Mental Health Officer (MHO)

May:

23 Wellness checks on individuals in Victoria County for May. And 5 Wellness Checks in
Jackson County from March May 2017.
3 Peace Officer Notification of Emergency Detention issued for psychiatric
hospitalizations.
2 transports to psychiatric hospitals from Victoria County and 4 transports from Jackson
County MHOs
Assisted with de-escalation with 2 aggressive male individuals that were in crisis at the
Center.
3 screenings by Mental Health Deputy which resulted in MCOT being contacted for crisis
assessment.

June:

74 Wellness Checks in Victoria County


3 individuals referred to MHO for being a danger to self/others
2 Peace Officer Notification of Emergency Detention issued for psychiatric
hospitalization in Victoria County and one issued in Jackson County.
1 transport to San Antonio State hospital

July:

95 Wellness Checks in Victoria County


2 Peace Officer Notification of Emergency Detention issued for psychiatric
hospitalization
1 Transport to Inpatient psychiatric hospital in Jackson County.

August:

38 Wellness Checks in Victoria County


3 Peace Officer Notification of Emergency Detention issued for psychiatric
hospitalization.
2 Screenings by Mental Health Deputy which resulted in MCOT being contacted for a
Crisis Assessment.

Law Enforcement Navigator (LEN)


Created a brochure
Collaboratively working with Community resources in Victoria and Jackson counties to
include Housing authority, Billy T Cattan, Workforce Commission, Food Bank, 211 Texas ,
VCAM, First United Methodist Church, Helping Hands, and the Jackson County Chamber
of Commerce
In process of being commissioned by Victoria County SO; once commissioned LEN will
have access the database used by Victoria and Jackson counties.
Received clearance to have access to Victoria County jail and Jackson County jail.
Office space has been made available in Victoria and Jackson county jails for LEN to
meet with inmates.
May: Met with 34 inmates in Victoria County Jail
June: Met with 35 inmates in Victoria County Jail and 5 inmates in Jackson County Jail
July: Met with 36 inmates in Victoria County jail and 9 inmates in Jackson County Jail
o Assisted with community resources once released:
Housing: 3
Food: 3
Gulf Bend: 2
General (Social Security, ID, school supplies): 3.
August: Met with 17 inmates in Victoria County Jail and 6 inmates in Jackson County Jail
o Assisted with community resources once released:
Housing needs: 6
Food Resources: 5
Medical Resources: 2
Gulf Bend Services: 1
General (household items, gas card assistance): 3
