NOTIFICATION
Sub: Guidelines for appointment of PG Guides & Guide Student Ratio in the
faculty of Physiotherapy and Nursing.
Ref:1) Recommendations of Academic Council in its meeting held on
19/02/2011.
2) Minutes of the 94th meeting of the Syndicate held on 18/05/2011.
In exercise of the powers conferred under section 35 of RGUHS Act, 1994 the
Syndicate is pleased to approve Guidelines for appointment of PG Guides & Guide
Student Ratio in the faculty of Physiotherapy and Nursing as shown below.

1. The faculty to be appointed as guide for M. Sc Nursing & MPT, candidates must
have obtained recognition letter from RGUHS.
2. The faculty to be appointed as guide shall produce salary particular with TDS for
the previous financial year.
3. The relieving letter issued by the competent authority from the previous
employer.
4. The Guide should submit an affidavit stating that he/she is not employed in any
other Institute/Hospital either on full time /part time basis and that he/she is
working on full time basis.
5. Both the guide and Principal of the college have to submit the affidavit stipulating
the above condition.
6. The Principal shall maintain Guide student Ratio at 1:4 compulsorily for nursing
and 1:5 Physiotherapy faculty.
7. The Principals of all college have to submit the list of approved guides along with
the admission statement before the last date stipulated.

The colleges shall send the faculty in person to the University before finalizing
their PG Guide ship and shall be made applicable only for the new and existing
colleges starting fresh PG courses.

The above notification shall come into force with immediate effect.
