GTM Rigid Design
Rigid Design
The GTMs compact housing provides high
rigidity, which helps to resist high axial and
radial loads.
Using the largest possible tapered roller
bearings in the available space, greater
bearing surfaces are created. This
translates into longer life and more load
capacity for the gearbox.
The output shaft and planet carrier is of one-
piece construction.
A backlash-free torque transmission is
obtained by using a solid compression
coupling
GTM Rigid Design
The fused sungear and input coupling provide
up to 1000 emergency stops without loss of
precision. The competition does not attempt
to make this claim after even one E-stop.
The solid output shaft provides both high

torsional and axial rigidity.
The ring gear is machined in the steel

housing.
GTM Lubricated for Life
Patented CC tapered-roller-
bearing construction Lubrication
The unique construction of the tapered roller
bearings provides the added benefit of
assuring adequate lubrication. The bearing
movement distributes the oil with a pumping
action throughout the gearbox.
The optimal lubrication cavities allow the

standard gearbox to be mounted in any
orientation plane.
The use of less oil cuts reduce splash losses,

which directly contribute to the gearboxs
efficiency and temperature.
GTM Lubricated for Life
A special coating on the ring gear assists in
the lubrication of the planetary set.
The gearbox is permanently sealed with Viton

seals on both the input and the output.
IP65 protection keeps lubrication in and contaminants
out throughout the 20,000-hour lifetime of the
gearbox.
Please note that the 20,000-hour lifetime based on
high nominal loads. Bearing-life is proportional to the
cube of the load!

Small INTERNAL cavities
Runs quieter
Smaller internal cross-sectional areas and specially-
designed teeth make the GTM up to 10 dB quieter
than the GTP and GTS.
The small internal cavity reflects less noise.
Theoretically-optimized gear shaping contributes to
noise reduction.
Drops-in to alpha applications
External dimensions were intentionally made larger to
match the alpha SP-series to allow for easy
replacement.
Wider base The patented CC design allows higher
radial loads on the output simultaneously
Same EXTERNAL dimensions taking up less space near the output.
as the GTS Notice the wider base for distribution of the radial
loads.

The seals were kept to the smallest diameter possible
giving them lower surface speed. Result:

Temperatures 10 C below the GTS
Allow higher speeds continuously
Up to 10,000 rpm S1-operation is allowed!
Have continuous operation as standard
There is no need to order a derated version.
Provide IP65 protection
The seals keep the oil in.

The GTS provides only an IP64 rating!
