Installation
Insert the installation disc: If the auto start feature is enabled, installation should
start automatically. Follow the on-screen directions. If installation DOES NOT start
automatically, browse to the contents of the installation disc and double-click
setup.exe.
Important: After successful installation, make sure you have the latest software
updates by going to HELP > CHECK FOR UPDATES.
A copy of the motor database will be installed on your computer (local database).
By default, the software will try to access EASAs online database. If an internet
connection is not available, the software will switch to the local database. The online
database is updated periodically; the local database is not updated.
Installing software updates
Version 4 provides an easy way to keep current with software revisions. Go to HELP >
CHECK FOR UPDATES. The program will access the update website through your
Internet connection and download and install any current program revisions. Thats
all there is to it. Youll benefit from ongoing developments without having to load new
software or reinstall.
Database options
This version of the EASA Motor Rewind Database software takes a large leap forward
with the data that it provides members. Most notably, it now has the ability to con-
nect to a live, ever-expanding online database of more than 250,000 windings. This
live database will be continuously monitored, updated and corrected as needed by
EASAs Technical Support Staff. Using the online database guarantees youll have
the most up-to-date information available at all times. If your computer does not have
an Internet connection, the software will automatically switch to the static, local da-
tabase that was included and loaded during installation. (Note: The local database
does not receive updates.)
Reporting problems to EASA
If you experience problems with the software, please include the following information
when contacting EASA for technical support.
Operating system of the computer.
Version of Java installed on the computer (optional).
Version of the EASA Motor Rewind Database software being used. To see
what version is currently installed, go to HELP > ABOUT and click on the
Installation Details button.
A screen shot or the complete text of any error messages.
A screen shot of the problem/error.
A copy of the motor data being entered when the error occurs.
A list of steps to reproduce the error (if possible).
