God resists the proud, he gives grace to the humble (James 4;6, 1Peter 5;5).
Humble: Conscious of one's failings (Collins English Dictionary).
Explanation:
Because all have sinned (1), all need forgiveness. This explains why salvation cannot be of works, it
must be of God's grace and mercy (3). Works are not enough to save a person. Although it is God's
will that all be saved (2), God resists the proud, he only gives grace to the humble (4). Humble can
mean: Conscious of one's failings (Collins English Dictionary). Because salvation is of grace and
God gives grace to the humble we see that God gives salvation to the humble (3, 4). We see that
people do not believe the truth because they remain damned (8), they remain damned because they
do not have God's mercy (3) and they do not have God's mercy because they are proud (4) despite
having sinned (1). It is not that they remain damned because they refuse to believe, it is that they
cannot believe because they remain damned. The cause of their unbelief is damnation. The gospel
is veiled to those who are perishing who's mind the devil has blinded (5). Those who obey do so
because they are afraid of God's wrath and these are the true believers (10). One cannot fear or obey
someone that they do not believe in therefore those who fear and obey Jesus definitely believe in
Jesus. Those who believe but think obedience is optional are actually not believers but they could
not be convinced of that. The reason they do not believe is because they are not in God's grace (9).
They are not in God's grace because they remain too proud (4). If they were humble God would
grant them true belief then they would fear God and obey Jesus to appease God's wrath. The gospel
is veiled to the proud (4, 5). The gospel says, obey Jesus to stay in God's grace.
This explanation accommodates all ten facts about salvation. Can you explain them another way?
