Event Tracker

ABSTRACT

Event Tracker is software that manages various events that take place in
an Oragnization from time to time. The employees of an Organization will be
involved in various events like taking professional training, computers and
internet, Business and Economy, conducting parties, or sports and games,
product releases etc.. While events like these happen, it is necessary to plan
them properly and inform the events to all the concerned people in advance
and store the information for further use in a database. Event Tracker has
also additional features like publishing Yellow Pages online and providing
remote login and administering the server from a remote client.

Existing System:

Existing system is a manual system to maintain the events inside Excel

sheet. It is very difficult for a user to create, edit and delete the events
inside an excel sheet and the user takes lot of time in searching for an
events. maintaining assigned, unassigned issues information and their status
is becoming a tedious task for the user.

We are administering the server by manually going into the same

system and work on the same system. It is becoming the burden for the
administrator to administer the server when he is at some other branch in
the company. Maintaining the employee administration, contact
administration manually making the users entering mistakes. So all these
requirements has to be fulfilled by automating the process and maintaining
all these in a software application.

Event Tracker has the following modules:

1) Event Management module: This has events in different categories, starting date
and time of an event and who is presenting this event. This module has 3 different
types of users: Administrator, User and Guest.

The administrator can create new users, delete any existing users, and he can also
create new categories of events, and modify the existing categories. The users use
the available categories.

Users are employees of the company who use the Event Tracker system to manage
the events. The Users can add sub categories and specify the event details.

Guests are temporary users who use the system for a specific duration only.
Trainees will be provided with a guest status.

2) Yellow Pages: This is another powerful feature in this software. This module
manages creation of online yellow pages for any company. This module has 3
users: Administrator, User and Guest. The Administrator will create categories and
user logins. The users can login to the module and enter any information (like a
link of their company or a link related to their product) which they want to publish
on internet.

Yellow Pages is useful to advertise the products of any company on line for business
growth. Through Yellow Pages an Organization can get substantial income also.

3) Administering Remote system: This module enables a user to manage the file
resources of a server machine from any client, provided the password of the server
is known. This module is useful to browse the files and directories of the server
and to select, copy, delete or rename a file or a directory. The selected files can be
downloaded into client in the form of a .zip file. Similary file uploading into the
server is also available.

4) Guest Features :
By default guests can view all public categories, topics, replies, profiles, do
searches and view the member directory.
