Fourth Grade Expectations

Welcome back to school! Fourth grade is an academically demanding

year. Your child will be taking the STAAR test this year. (Reading, Math,
and Writing). We want to work with you and your student to assist
him/her in mastering all the skills necessary to have a happy and
successful year.
Work Expectations
*Fourth Grade is a developmental year for students as they learn to
become more responsible, independent, and accountable for
themselves.
*Students are expected to have all of their supplies and materials each
day. They are expected to be responsible for their assignments in each
of their subjects.
Daily Work/Homework
*When homework is assigned it is due the next day when the student
comes to class or on the specific due date that was given. If the
assignment is not turned in on time, the highest grade possible is a 70.
Papers not turned in within 3 days of the due date will receive a 0.
(Exceptions include excused absences)
*Failing assignments that have been graded and returned may be
corrected for a maximum of 70.
*Take-Home Folders come every Tuesday. Information about upcoming
events, conduct grades and graded papers will be in the folder.
*Binders and assignment managers (agendas) will be brought home
each day for parents to review.
