Councilmember David Grosso is proud to collaborate with the Sex Worker Advocates

Coalition on the Reducing Criminalization to Improve Community Safety and Health


Amendment Act of 2017. The organizations who make up the coalition bring unique
perspectives to this issue and can provide additional expertise about the need for a rethinking
of how the District of Columbia approaches sex work.
HIPS promotes the health, rights, and dignity of individuals and communities impacted by
sexual exchange and/or drug use due to choice, coercion, or circumstance. HIPS provides
compassionate harm reduction services, advocacy, and community engagement that
is respectful, non-judgmental, and affirms and honors individual power and agency.

Casa Ruby is the only Bilingual Multicultural LGBT Organization providing life saving services
and programs to the most vulnerable in the LGBT community. Their mission is to create
successful life stories among Transgender, Gender Queer and Gender Non-conforming Gay,
Lesbian and Bisexual people.

GLAA was founded in 1971 as the Gay and Lesbian Activists Alliance, and updated in 2017 to be
more inclusive of the LGBTQ community. GLAA is an all-volunteer, non-partisan, non-profit

people in the Nations Capital.

DC Rape Crisis Center is the designated State Sexual Assault Coalition for the District of
Columbia providing survivor-centered advocacy through therapeutic services, training and
technical assistance, community education, public policy initiatives as well as volunteer
opportunities.

Amara Legal Center provides free legal services to individuals whose rights have been violated
