 INTRODUCTION
Casting is a process widely used in industries. Casting is a traditional process. Technological
development has not yet been observed in this area. Inducto Cast is a sand cast industry
situated in Vitthal Udhyognagar, Anand. It manufactures components made of either cast iron
or spheroidal graphite cast iron. The list of components comprise lanterns, gear housing and
muff couplings. The process of casting generally leads to defects in the components 2
produced. There are two ways to bring about an improvement: either by applying quality
control tools or by applying theoretical knowledge.
