Lesson idea implementation:

Using TimeLine, students will make their own Timeline of the events that took place during the Civil War, such
as speeches, compromises, and battles. The students will first look at the Timeline I have made to guide them
in the steps to take or help with any dates. The students will each be given 5 main events to put on their
Timeline. The students will then research the major events given to them to guide them. Each student will list
the event, date, and the significance of the event on their Timeline. Then, each student will present their
Timeline that they have made to the class to help the class better understand the events of the Civil War.
When done presenting, to conclude the lesson, the entire class will come together as a whole to make one big
Timeline of the Civil War with all of the events on it. To finish, the big Timeline made will be posted on the
classroom blog so parents and students can access it. This project will take about a week to do, working on it
a little bit every day.
