HEALTH STUDIES

The European Credit Transfer Classes

system (ECTS)
Each level is attained by acquiring
ECTS. The academic year is divided into
two semesters, and the validation of
one semester is equivalent to 30 ECTS
credits. The accumulation of credits at
the higher education level depends on
academic workload, number of course
hours and course objectives.
University classes generally start during
the month of September and finish in
May/June just before the end of year
exams.
Semester: Each university year is
divided into 2 semesters (September
to January and January to June).
The subjects taught are regrouped
according to teaching units (UE unit
denseignement) that include lectures,
tutorials (TD travaux dirigs) and
practical work (TP travaux pratiques).

These take place in lecture halls (often
called amphi) and can welcome up to

Registration
You are an International
Student outside an Exchange
Program ?
Level of education
To start the first year of a Bachelor
degree, you must have validated second
level studies. To continue your studies
(as of 2nd year Bachelor or Master)
you must prepare your student file
which will then be examined by the
educational commission of the faculty
you have chosen to pursue your studies.
Level of French
The B2 level in French is recommended
(please refer to the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages),
and this must be proven with a
certificate (TCF or DALF). The cost of
the test for such a certificate is between
80 and 170 and may be taken at an
Alliance Franaise or approved language
center.
Grading system
In France, the grades range from 0 to
20. 0 is the lowest grade and 20 is the
highest. The average grade is 10/20 and
as of 14/20 the result may be considered

good.
Assessment tests
Two different types of assessment exist:
Continuous assessment which validates
knowledge with oral and written exams
continuously throughout the year ;
Exams (oral and written) that are taken
in one go at the end of each semester.
You do not need the TCF or DALF
certificate if:
You are from a state where French is the
official language or where secondary
studies are completed mainly in French.
You are a foreign student from a
bilingual French section listed by the
Ministries of National Education and
Foreign Affairs.
You have received the advanced
diploma in French (DALF C1 and C2), the
diploma of studies in French (DELF B2)
or another language test that is officially
of the same level.
Registration
In order to obtain your student card,
you must pay a national fee. The amount
of this fee is determined every year
by the Ministry of Higher Education
and Research and varies according
to the degree and the existence of
specific complementary contributions.
Depending on your situation, payment
for the French student social security
scheme and complementary health

 insurance (optional) is added to the
registration fees. This fee is retained by
the university no matter the duration of
the studies. The totality of these fees are
paid in one go during the registration
Education & admission
process.
The administrative registration process
provides you with an official student
status. It must be completed before
the beginning of the 1st semester of
the university year (September) and
enables you to obtain your student card,
Aquipass, and sit your exams.
On-line application
You are starting your third-level
studies (1st year Bachelor degree).
You must complete a DAP. This process
is explained and may be completed
on the website of the Ministry of
National Education, Higher Education
and Research. It varies depending on
whether you are a foreign student:
Residing in France with a foreign
second level qualification: Green file
Residing abroad with a foreign second
level qualification: White file
The deadline for your application is
mid-January.
You are continuing your third-level
studies (as of 2nd year Bachelor until
Master year 2).
This process is different depending on
whether you are a foreign student:
Residing in a country that has signed
the "Etudes en France" (Studying in
France) procedure: application to be
completed directly on the Campus
France website (deadline: end of March).
From a country in the EU or from a
country that is not covered by the
"Etudes en France" procedure, with a
foreign qualification: application to be
completed on the Apoflux website (see
our website).

will need a long stay student visa when
staying for over 3 months in France. In

Le systme de crdits europens Les cours

Chaque unit denseignement (UE)
valide en fin de semestre permet
lattribution de crdits ECTS (European
Credits Transfer System). Un semestre
dtudes vaut 30 crdits et une anne
60 ECTS. Ce systme facilite la
reconnaissance des diplmes dans les
diffrents pays europens. Il permet
galement dacqurir des crdits dans
des tablissements denseignement
suprieur ltranger.

Les cours luniversit dmarrent
en gnral au mois de septembre et

Niveau de formation
Pour entrer en 1re anne de licence,
vous devez avoir valid des tudes
secondaires. Pour poursuivre un cursus
partir de la 2e anne de licence ou en
master, vous devez prsenter un dossier
qui sera examin par la commission
pdagogique de la filire que vous avez
choisie.
Niveau de franais
Le niveau B2 est recommand (merci de

de rfrence pour les langues), et doit

(DELF B2) ou dun autre test linguistique

Inscription
Pour obtenir une carte dtudiant, il faut
sacquitter des droits nationaux, dont
le montant est fix annuellement par le
Ministre de lenseignement suprieur
et de la recherche. Le montant total des
droits de scolarit varie selon le diplme
prpar et lexistence de contributions
spcifiques complmentaires. Selon
votre cas particulier, le paiement de la
cotisation au rgime tudiant de scurit
sociale et de mutuelle (facultatif) sajoute
aux droits dinscription.

When you arrive at the university,

you are provided with your personal
Aquipass card. This is your student
passport that will be your source of ID
and will let you use the many services
on offer: taking out books at the library,
eating at the university restaurants
You may also carry out certain
purchases thanks to the electronic card
system.

IZLY, HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Aquipass card has an integrated Izly
card system. You must create an online
account that may be credited in a totally
secure way. Its up to you then to decide
whether to pay with your contactless
student ID or your mobile phone. This may
be used in the university cafeterias and
restaurants thus avoiding the need to pay
in cash.
How to credit the Izly card?
You can credit your account starting
from 5 with just a few clicks, whether

from your mobile app or the web. You can

transfer money from your Izly account to
your bank account at anytime.

Daily life

In France, health insurance (or

Social Security as it is more
commonly known) is obligatory
for all students. Subscription is
completed at the same time as
university registration and is
valid for the entire year.
You must pay up front for your
healthcare; your visits to the
doctor and your medication.
Your expenses are then partially
reimbursed by the Social
Security. The remainder of the
expenses is your responsibility.
You may pay directly yourself
or subscribe for complementary
health insurance (optional) that
will cover such extra expenses.

Its the place to come to ensure that you
remain in good health for the duration
of your studies. Professional teams are
present to welcome, provide advice
and inform you as regards your needs
medical appointments, nursing services

prior appointment, health reviews),
immunization updates, medical
certificates allowing the practice of
sports And because health and wellness

also offers relaxation and sophrology
