Why they were poor?

The film is based on the life of a certain Mahavir Singh Phogat. This man was an amateur wrestler who
dreamed of bringing glory to the country. Amir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat played a role of father in
the movie who used to be a wrestler but he lost his dream because he did not earn well in his game.
Since, he was an amateur wrestler who was to give up wrestling in order to obtain gainful employment.
He was unable to win a gold medal for India and vows that his sons will. Therefore, he had a same
dream for his son but when he has four daughters, he lost every hope. He believed that only his son
could accomplish his dream until he found the same talent of wrestling in his daughters but the villagers
did not supported him. He faced difficulty but though struggled a lot as a small villager with no financial
and emotional support to raise his girl children to become world champions in wrestling.

What were the Factors for transformation and Changes in lifestyle?

Mission Impossible:

Things were not as easy as it seemed. Mahavir (Aamir Khan) has gone through a roller coaster ride to
explain people why it is important to raise your daughters equally instead of pushing them to marry. He
has defied many arguments, risked his own life and career; despite the hurdles, he stands alone to fight
back the challenges posed for his daughters. When he began coaching his daughters, Mahavir did not
know if he will be successful in creating an interest in his daughters` hearts for wrestling. It is only his
passion and his daughters` love for him, which has together brought him this recognition. . He taught
wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. In the initial training, both of the girls were
not interested in the game and gave numerous attempts to ran away from their trainings. However, they
started showing enthusiasm in their game when they realized that their father is not doing anything
wrong with them.

Pride and prejudice:

Geeta became a national champion under her fathers guidance. There was time in Geetas life when she
was forgetting everything that her father taught her to become a champion because she found new way
of living life according to her that eventually emotionally broke her down. At the end, once again, she
recognized her real game through her fathers vision and that made her Champion in common wealth
games.

Geeta adopted a new environment; she changed her mentality and started forgetting his teachings that
affected both of their lives. Everyone is playing a game of perception; the world will convert into the
same pattern that you have made inside your mind. Geeta changed the pattern of her thinking when she
found that there is no one who could restrict her to live a life that she always wanted to live. However,
when she realized that the aim yet to accomplished, she went back to her father and accepted all the
teachings that her father gave her because it was her fathers dream after all.
What are the lessons learnt from the movie?

Do not handover your dreams to anyone

Amir Khan as a wrestler had a dream to won a gold medal for the Nation and as a father; he had a same
dream for his daughters. That simply means no matter how, he just wanted that gold medal for the
country. However, eventually he indirectly achieved his dream and made his daughters great inspiration
to the world. Here I am not going to judge anyones life but somewhere in his journey, he faced
disappointment because of Geetas unusual behavior. This is what happens when we expect anything
from anyone. Everything was favorable to Mahvir Singh when his daughter Geeta, was doing training
under him but when your dreams are more important than anything else is you are the one who could
agreeably achieve your dreams without getting hurt from anyone. Moreover, if you face any
disappointment then only you will be responsible for that and you will not drown into the sea of negative
thinking because of someone else who is working for your dreams
Dedication and discipline

Aamir khan was not always the strict disciplinarian that he was in the akhada. Mahavir was very
cheerful and loved playing with his children as any good father would do. But once in the akhada, he
was no longer their father.

The movie shows Aamir khan, Mahavir himself was of the opinion that with the role of the coach came
the responsibility of shaping up a wrestler who would go on to win medals for the country. The
responsibility of maintaining a strict demeanour at all times shows that how dedication and discipline
plays important role in such phases of life. When discipline becomes a priority, everything becomes
more challenging but at the end of the day the gain is beneficial.

Train as hard as you can

As Mahavir he could not achieve his dream of becoming an international wrestler. However, his motto
was hardships and failures only made a person stronger and there are no shortcuts when it comes to
training.

When it came to training the children, he stuck to this basic formula: Train as hard as you can.

We watched in the movie that the girls spent most of their formative years in the akhada, training to
become a wrestler. The cycle of wrestle-eat-sleep-repeat seemed never-ending at the time.

In the autobiography, Ritu is quoted as recalling, The first few days were fun for us. Being the youngest
among all the children, Vinesh and I were let off easy. We would sit and chuckle at the sight of our elder
cousins sweating

.
During some training sessions, Mahavir did lose his patience, though. on one occasion, Geeta was
unable to properly demonstrate a particular command and was making an error repeatedly. Mahavirs
frustration got the better of him and he started hitting her with a stick. Much to Geetas relief, her
grandfather came up to her rescue. Mahavirs father, who was himself a wrestler, was the only one in the
family who could say anything against his son.

Keeping a vision and having a mission is a key to success

People cheer the winners. They celebrate your success when you are on a high. Some dont. And you
meet them again when you return to your roots. In the rise and fall, what keeps a champion aloof from
his surroundings is the survival instinct and the motive. Geeta and her national champion sister Babita
know they have got into wrestling with a mission. Win is the only way forward.

Respect
Aamir khan played a role of a man making his daughters chase his dream. He cries, frowns, gets
angry, looks old and tired, but is definitely one of us. When he shakes his head helplessly, we see
a father in him. When he gets into a brawl, he is the brother we always depended on. When he
wants to see us win, we know we have to perform. Its not just his pride, its ours as well. It
gives us a lesson to respect the happenings in our society regardless its affecting our pride or its
for someones fulfillment of dreams.

Challenge is inevitable, but defeating the challenge is in your hands.
