BELIEVERS CHBELIEVERS CHURCH IN NOIDA STARTS TOILETS FOR POOR

The Believers Church on Sunday inaugurated six toilet facilities for lower
income group of families living in Barola area in Noidas Sector 50. It
said that these facilities will cater to around 40 people in the vicinity.
Most of these people are family members of daily wage labourers who
have migrated from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and
Bihar over the past few years.

Dr Simon John, the bishop at the Believers Church, said, We identify

areas with poor sanitation facilities and construct toilets for well being of
people living in the locality. Nineteen sanitation projects are being built
across Noida, Faridabad and Delhi to provide hygienic sanitation
facilities to migrants and low income group families.

While inaugurating the facilities, Ravinder Singh, the village head of

Barola said, These families migrated many years ago and took up jobs
as labourers in construction industry while their wives took up domestic
chores. This initiative will not only help them improve living conditions
but also educate them about benefits of proper sanitation facilities. More
than 400 families live in this area. It will inspire the entire community to
maintain hygiene and cleanliness.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr K. P. Yohannan, the metropolitan of

Believers Church, said, We also carry out awareness drives in areas
where we build these facilities so that they are well utilised. We dont
want to only build infrastructure but make use of toilet a continuous habit
for people. Our Prime Minister has laid the foundation of the cleanliness
movement and it is imperative that we as civil society do our bit for this
cause.
We will be inaugurating more such facilities in Agwanpur area of
Faridabad and Bhatti Mines in Delhi. The idea is to reach out to the most
underprivileged people and contribute towards improving their living
conditions, said Father Jagan Mohan of Believers Church.

Besides sanitation, the organization also works in the areas of women

empowerment, child education and helping victims of natural disasters.
