Conclusion

"AS EDUCATORS, WE KNOW THAT MAKING CONNECTIONS

BETWEEN NEW INFORMATION AND EXISTING knowledge and

experiences is essential. Therefore, when deciding how to organize

strategies, instructional technology, and activities that we were going to

share as part of a best-practices session, it seemed logical to relate it to

something we know and love" (Ebelhar, Hesson & Lopez, 2017, p.8).

In conclusion, it is clear that the Design Brief of this assignment focuses on the engaging,

integrating, performing and evaluating aspects of creative learning. Additionally, secondary

curriculum areas which include English Mathematics, Science and Arts were linked in order

to provide a wider scope of learning acquisition and experience. A well- designed teaching

strategies of integration feasible to diverse learners is relevant as these build connections

between the context and the environment. Moreover, the utilization of ICT on common

technology-related tasks provides a rich information and that convenience and accessibility to

both educators and learners are of great advantage (Pensabene, Sims, Grandgenett, & Lane,

2011). Furthermore, engaging into literary pieces and arts that reveal Indigenous culture and

traditions is a vital aspect of curricular understanding, expansion, and enhancement

(Kulnieks, Longboat & Young, 2016). On the basis of the findings of the above-mentioned

researchers, this Design Brief, therefore, summarizes the holistic integration of curriculum in

a Technology and Design focused learning area.


Reflection:

My placement experience in this semester had great contribution in structuring this Design

Brief as I was able to connect the curriculum standards to the kind of 21st century diverse

learners we have. Their mode of learning preferences with respect to ICT and classroom

activities gave an avenue for me to think critically in order to provide better learning

opportunities. Additionally, the terms "Puppet and Balloon Animals Carnival!" were coined

by me from the activities that we conducted during my practicum in the school-based setting.

Some of the ideas and concept of this assignment were derived from the experiences I had.

However, I cannot provide the level of engagement and assessment as to what extent of

knowledge this Unit of Work can offer as I have not applied this yet to a learning

environment.
