The investigation into this robbery has led to the arrest of a 16 year old male from Coon Rapids. The juvenile had
been reported as a runaway and had last been seen in the City of St. Cloud on 10/08/17 at 4:42 p.m.
The juvenile was located and arrested on 10/11/17 at 6:24 p.m. at the intersection of 33 rd Avenue and 2nd Street
North, St. Cloud. The juvenile was taken into custody without incident.
The juvenile was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for psychological evaluation and then transported to the
Stearns County Jail for placement into a juvenile detention facility. The juvenile will be held for court on the charge
of aggravated robbery.
Through the investigation officers learned that the victim had entered the North doors of Macys and had been
followed in by a lone male suspect. Once inside the store the suspect grabbed the victims purse, which was hung
over her shoulder, and attempted to pull the purse from the victim. The action of pulling the purse caused the victim
to fall to the ground at which time the suspect dragged the victim by the purse, kicked her, and ultimately stole the
purse. At that time a 23 year old female witness observed the incident and approached just as the suspect ran back
out the North doors of the store with the purse. The witness briefly ran after the suspect who eventually dropped the
purse in the Target parking lot. No weapons were ever used or observed during the robbery.
The suspect is described as a white male approximately 16-18 years of age, standing approximately 59 tall with a
heavy build, wearing a white t-shirt, black athletic pants, white shoes, and an orange and white stocking cap.
The victim received minor, non-life threatening injuries and was treated on scene by Gold Cross Ambulance
paramedics. Officers checked the area for the suspect, however he was not located. Store surveillance cameras
were able to provide an image of the suspect which is depicted below.
The case is active. Anyone with information regarding the above incident or the suspect depicted below is urged to
