Lesson 1

Directions: Students will create an infographic using the web 2.0 tool Canva.com. Students will use the
Mini Lesson curated resources to complete the assignment.

Explore each of the resources provided in the curated resources found HERE.
Take notes while exploring and choose one subject, Plagiarism, Fact Checking, or Citing Work to
focus on.
Using the supplied information, create an infographic summarizing one of the subjects
represented.
Assessment: Once students have explored all the provided resources, they will create the infographic,
download it as an image file (jpg, pdf, etc.) and email the file to their teacher.

Lesson 2

Directions: Students will create a timeline using the web 2.0 tool Timeline by Knightlab Inc. explore a
series of websites concerning Pearl Harbor, and it's aftereffects on the United States.

1. Open the lesson by showing a few clips of the movie Pearl Harbor. Encourage students to think
of how they would have reacted given the same circumstances.
2. Students will be given time to explore each of the following web links to gather information
concerning the timeline of events.

3. Using the supplied information, create a timeline depicting the events of December 7, 1941, and
the months that followed.

Assessment: Once students have explored all the provided resources, they will create the timeline and
post a link on the Media Center Website Blog under the title "Pearl Harbor Timeline."

Lesson 3

Directions: Students will write a blog entry summarizing their impressions of the impact of Pearl Harbor
on the individual citizen and the country as a whole.

Each student will be given 10 minutes to explore the Pearl Harbor VR experience using the HTC
VIVE VR system.
Students will write a blog post summarizing how they would have reacted to the Pearl Harbor
incident based on all the information gathered and the VR experience.
The student will apply the ACES writing strategy to their blog post.

Assessment: Once students have explored the VR experience, they will write their blog and post it to the
Media Center Blog under "My Impressions of Pearl Harbor."

Notes: Lesson 2 and 3 may run congruently. It will take additional time for students to complete the VR experience (only one at a
time on the VR). The timeline can be completed during that waiting period.
