Semi-detailed Lesson Plan in

Mother Tongue-Based {MTB} 2

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, pupils are able to:
a. Recall important details in a story listened to.
b. Give the correct sequence of the events in the story/ identify the beginning,
middle and end of literacy text.
c. Show love for reading by listening attentively during story reading.

Materials: Story: Ni Tukak ken Ngilaw {Bigbook}, pictures, flashcards,
envelopes

III. Procedure

A .Preliminary Activities
1. Review
Recall some ways on how to protect the environment to avoid flood by arranging the
metacards.

2. Drill
Unlocking of difficulties.
A. Development of the Lesson
1. Motivation
{ Show a picture of a frog and flies in a pond}

2. Setting the Purpose for Reading


Before I will read a story, what are you going to do when somebody is reading?

{Show the bigbook to the pupils. Give the author and the illustrator of the story}.

3. Story Reading by the teacher

4. Answering the questions and higher level questions.


a. Where did the frog and flies live?
b. What warning did the mother to the little fly?
c. Did the little fly obey mother flys advice?
d. What did the little fly do?
e. What happened to the little fly?
f. If you were the little fly, would you do the same? Why? Why not?

B. Enrichment Activity/Post
Development of the Lesson
1. Sequencing the events in the story { Divide the class into 3 groups and let them do
the activity}.

I have here envelope. I will give each group an envelope containing the same set of
pictures. Arrange the pictures in two minutes from beginning, middle and to the end of
the story. The group that will do accurately will be the winner.
2. Group Presentation
Call a member/leader of each group to present their output.

Summarize the story of Ni Tukak ken Ngilaw

D. Application
Write correct sequence by numbering the sentences in the order that they happened in the
story. {Post a short story}

V. Assignment
Read one story and write the beginning, middle and of the story.
These pictures are taken when my cooperating teacher assigned
me to teach the story of Ni Pusa ken Bilit wherein I used Bigbook as a
medium of Instruction. Pupils are actively listened to my story and all of
them participate well on the lesson.
In this lesson, I used again Bigbook as a medium of Instruction and the
lesson Id taught there was Pagkasangay ni Donna?
These pictures were taken during EPP subject wherein Id taught Ang
kahalagan ng bawat Miyembro sa Pamilya
Pupils actively participated during the class discussion.
