Design-led yarns and stand out stands

Cygnet Yarns brought a stunning English country garden themed
stand to the show complete with a knitted tree centrepiece. Katie
Stephenson, Company Director said, This years show has been a lot
busier for us, and I think our new stand design has really attracted
people. Weve also launched some fabulous new products including
Utopia Chunky, with visitors having responded really well to the way
the yarn feels, its softness and the variegated colours. Weve also
launched a brand-new innovative yarn Kiddies Super Safe & Soft
yarn, anti-bacterial and anti-pilling so its great for baby knits and
sensitive skin and we've had a great reaction to this.
The popularity of design-led yarns was echoed by Creative World
of Crafts, who created a beautiful stand punctuated with eye-catching
pops of colour and showcased the range of multi-coloured Caron
Cakes yarn, which has taken the USA by storm. Creative World of Crafts
reported huge demand at the show. Kirsty Reilly, Account Manager
said, Its been amazing and really busy. The Caron Cakes have been
so popular, we had a customer as the show opened on Sunday who
ran straight to the stand as they wanted to be the first person to order
them. In each Caron Cake ball of yarn, there are five different colours,
which gradually change, meaning it effectively knits all five colours at

THE BRITISH CRAFT AWARDS 2017
Theres no event quite as prestigious in the craft industry calendar as the
presentation of Immediates British Craft Awards. Forming part of last weekends
CHSI Stitches Europes largest dedicated trade show for the art, craft, needlecraft
and hobby sector the awards have taken on must-attend status. Held at the NEC
on the closing night of the show, more than 250 designers, manufacturers and
distributors came together to celebrate the crme de la crme of the crafting world.
This year. More than 21,500 nominations were cast online by our enthusiastic
crafting communities, with 250 brands and industry experts vying for gongs
including Retailer of the Year, Designer of the Year and Product of the Year. John
Scott and Natasha McCarty, the new Sewing Quarter presenters, presented the
25 coveted awards across sewing, quilting, knitting and crochet, craft and stitch,
before the guests got the chance to celebrate over drinks and canaps, and by
taking a snap in the selfie mirror!
The Craft industry celebrated in style and the British Craft Awards are now
