Why government sector would want to have parking facility?

It is because it is an INNOVATIVE APPROACH to solve parking demand. To reduce the vehicle traffic, for
a particular area like the city hall compound, the idea is to implement a parking supply management and
through pricing.

What is the problem? Why there is a need for parking facility?

It is because there is an increasing demand for parking in the city hall compound in the present whereas
the people coming to city hall are now increasing that makes the present parking slots insufficient to the
people.
If we would want to make a four storey city hall, it makes more insufficient since the centralization of
departments makes large area in the building and the tendency is to make more parking slots as stated
in the national building code.

Who are the beneficiaries of the project?

Direct beneficiaries:

The beneficiaries of the project are directly to the local government of lipa. Since the study focuses in
the development of city hall compound, the proposed structure will benefit the employees of the local
government and the Lipenos that claims the general public services of the government. Since the old
city hall will be a corporate center, they have also access to the facility as long as it is regulated.

How do we ensure that the structure is sustainable?

To design a sustainable structure, it is not merely the use of energy-efficient materials but rather to
reduce the negative impacts on the environment.

For example, if we use vertical garden to the rooftop, the air will be purified and there will be less heat.
Also, If we use non toxic paint for interior and extior walls the structure will reduce the impacts in the
environment most especially in the groundwater and ozone depleting contaminants.

What is the results if you did not meet the parking demand?
The result is there will be a future problem in the economy and transportation. It would encourage the
on street parking that will result to traffic congestion in the compound.

How do you ensure that the parking slots are not oversupplied?
We ensure that the parking slots are not oversupplied through complying with the national codes and
local government codes. (see page 15 of the study)
