You do not have to apply directly to
universities in Australia. The Australia
Awards Secretariat will take care of your
placement once you have been awarded
with the scholarship.
What is the minimum English
language proficiency score required
to qualify for the scholarship?
IELTS: Overall band score should be at
least a 6.5, with no individual band score
lower than 6.0.
PTE: Overall band score should be at
least a 58, with no individual band score
lower than 54.
TOEFL: 580 with TWE 4.5 for the paper-
based test, 237 for the computer-based
test, and 92 for the internet-based test.
Please submit only 1 valid test result.
A certificate of English as a Medium of
Instruction will not be accepted in place
of an IELTS, TOEFL or PTE.
For certain courses and universities in
Australia, the minimum academic English
language requirement is higher than the
Australia Awards prerequisite. Applicants
must meet the higher required test
scores if they wish to enroll in these
courses/universities.

Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit.
What are the work experience
requirements?
The applicant must have professional
work experience of at least 2 years. On-
the-Job-Training (OJT) and internships
will not be credited to work experience.
I have taken an English Proficiency
test before, is it still valid?
The results should not be more than 2
years old by 01 May 2018.

What if I am a Filipino
permanently/temporarily residing
abroad, am I qualified to apply for
the Australia Awards Scholarships?
To be eligible for the scholarship,
applicants must be residing in the
Philippines at the time of their
application and during mobilisation.
What are the post-award
obligations of the scholar?
It is the condition of the program that
a successful awardee returns to the
Philippines for a minimum period of two
years following completion or termination
of the scholarship. He or she should
implement a Re-Entry Action Plan.
