V1 (F, Br): Welcome, everyone. Before we start our tour of the castle, there are just a couple

V (F Aus): How many times have you heard moans and groans from your students when you
say to them Were going to do a report now, on say, the history of light. However, if you say

well, even though I didnt talk much.

Section 3:

QUESTION 12-16: You will hear an advertisement. First, read the notes below then
listen and complete the notes with information from the advertisement. You will hear
the recording twice.

V1 (M US): We are offering scholarships for language learners to study German in Germany.
The scholarships pay for six weeks of classes, with language classes held Monday to Friday.
Courses can be selected from schools in several different cities and as the classes take up
only half the day, students can use this opportunity to visit places of interest. We also help
with accommodation. Students are offered a place in a shared house with other students,
but if anyone arrives early they will have to find somewhere else to stay until the first day of
classes, as accommodation is usually not available until then.
Food costs are not included, but the courses are mostly held at universities, so there are
many inexpensive student eating places close by. Scholarship holders will need money to
live on, and will usually have to pay their own travel costs. We recognise that travel from
some parts of the world to Europe is very expensive, so applicants from some countries will
receive a travel allowance. Scholarship holders must arrange their own travel.

QUESTION 17-21: You will hear a recorded message. First, read the notes below then
listen and complete the notes with information from the message. You will hear the
recording twice.
