This is the second novels of Arthur Conan Doyle after A Study in Scarlet. It was first published in February 1890 by Lippincotts Monthly Magazine and include in detective fiction novel. The main character in this series still same with other series, that is Sherlock Holmes and his partner, Dr.Watson. This film use Dr.Watsons viewpoint. Evaluation The story is begin when Miss Morstan asking help to Holmes about her problem. Annualy, Miss Morstan always gets a small box which there is a pearl inside since 1882. No letter inside the box. The only clue that found by Miss Morstan just a letter of big diagram with the name of Jonathan Small, Mahomet Singh, Abdullah Khan and Dost Akbar. But oneday, she receives a letter for the first time. The letter asking her for a meeting. Miss Morstan, Holmes and Watson follows the letter that bring them to persons who send all the pearl to Miss Morstan, . They carried in a building with India accent that very far from city center. Unfortunately, a murder occurs. As usual detective Sherlock Holmes investigate how the murder happen amd accompanied by Dr.Watson. That investigation bring them to a big adventure. Sherlock Holmes follow the trail and find the proof that guide him to the fact. Interpretation This novel tell us how Sherlock Holmes solve the problem in detail. The reader can develop their imagination fron the writers description. The plot is coherently from beginning until end. The description frow writer is easy to understand for the reader. The description fron writer also not too long. The writer can keep the reader corious with the story until end. Beside that, the reader can gets a lot of new knowledge about deduction science. Unfortunately, the cover of this nover is too simple and not colourful. There is some word that difficult to understand. It make the reader dont understand the overall sentence. Evaluative Summation In general, this novel is interesting to read. It suitable with all ages. This novel can motivates us to have a good mindset like Sherlock Holmes. We can also be thorough person like Shelock Holmes.
