This study aimed to assess the SSS pension hike and evaluate its
effect on SS members. This study also intends to recognize the
amendments made in the Social Security Act of 1997 or Republic Act
8282 especially the new policies to be implemented in order to make
the P2000 pension increase happen.

In order to realize this end, the following concerns were looked

into: 1) the new pension hike policies implemented by the SSS. 2) The
peoples reaction regarding these new pension hike policies. 3) The
degree of effectiveness of these policies to the pensioners.

This study involved 50 randomly selected employees with the

condition that they must be a member of the Social Security System. It
is a type of research investigation, which depicts and delves into the
acquired information. It comprises gathering, classifying, recording,
analyzing, and interpreting data. It also involves formulating
conclusions using pertinent data that are implied or inferred to make
meaning out of what is not clearly stated. This study used a survey
questionnaire in collecting information with regard to the
respondents perception on the SSS pension hike and its impact on
their attitudes and behaviors. The obtained data were tabulated,
tallied, analyzed, and interpreted using statistical treatment to
clearly illustrate the outcomes under each item contained in the
survey questionnaire using the percentage technique and the mean or
average.

As the researchers analyzed and interpreted the data gathered

from the questionnaires that were given to respondents, the study
resulted to different reactions of SSS members with the new SSS
pension hike policies.

The researchers concluded that the P2000 monthly increase in the

pension would possibly help the retirees for their monthly
consumptions and expenses. However, respondents don't favor to the
rise of retirement age to 70, they would wait for more years in order
for them to receive their monthly pension where in fact in this era
some of the people can't live beyond 70 years of age. Another policy
is that there would be file a charge for an employer who doesn't
remit his employees monthly contribution which is being deducted to
from their salaries. It is concluded that respondents want an
assurance that their efforts and hard work for the company they are
working would be equally paid off with an insured life in the future
and having privelege, benefits and their rights as an employee.

The researchers recommended to increase the SSS pension hike more

than 2,000 and lower the retirement age. For the study the
researchers recommended to increase the sample size to 100 to widen
the study and accumulate more data. Also the researchers suggest to
update the profile of the respondents by including their salaries and
their monthly contribution to assess the study furthermore.
