A Message from Meg August 6, 2010

Last week, I told you about an interactive Facebook poll our

campaign had launched that asked California Facebook users
which issue is most important to them: creating jobs, cutting
government spending or fixing education. On Tuesday, I Meg is counting on the energy

California must once again be competitive and foster innovative

we’re going to keep our state on the cutting edge and retain
and attract jobs, we must reduce taxes and ease burdensome
regulations on innovative companies such as SynapSense.

In East Los Angeles, local businesses have been closing their

doors, and residents say they're looking for a leader who will
focus on putting people back to work and listen to their
concerns. This week, I was proud to be the first Republican
candidate in many years to open an office in East LA.

Coalition-building has been an important part of our campaign.

I want to make sure that every California community is
involved in my plan to rebuild the state. On Wednesday, I had Design something symbolic of

California's success
For Creating Jobs
From Meg News Channel

For Peter Van Deventer, Meg Whitman’s campaign for Governor is a

campaign for innovation.

“Innovation is the key to job growth and job creation. Clearly, Meg was at
the forefront of job creation while she was at eBay,” said Van Deventer,
president and CEO of SynapSense. “That experience of innovation and
creating invention is what creates jobs, and Meg’s got a background that
shows she’s done that before.”

Speaking to a crowd of employees and business leaders at SynapSense in

Folsom, Meg discussed the importance of California becoming competitive
once again. She said the state must foster businesses that create jobs.
And it begins with innovative companies that can jump-start California’s

From Meg News Channel

Since the beginning of her candidacy, Meg has been taking steps to reach Connect With Meg
out to Californians in every corner of the state.

She’s traveled to nearly all of California’s 58 counties. She’s met voters at

more than 500 campaign events. She’s visited under-represented
communities, and she’s built coalitions with Californians who want to have
a voice in the future of this state.

Meg is committed to working hard to earn the vote of every Californian,

and to engaging voters in changing the path California is on.

Just this week, Meg opened a campaign office in East Los Angeles,
marking the first time a Republican statewide candidate has opened an
office in this community for many years.

“I want this to be a campaign that includes all Californians,” Meg told the
crowd at the office. “We are going to put Californians back to work, and
I’m not going to forget about East L.A.”...more
