This picture are on flood. As you can see, water level increase until
reached same with the house roof. We expected that this also happen because of
deforestation. We feel very glad to choose this picture. There are few aspect
related to this disaster. We will listed it below.

Floods are not entirely produced by the 'human action' and the 'act of
nature. But, human action is factor dominant in this problem. However, the choice
of people to inhabit and develop the floodplain rapidly, especially in big cities, is
the leading cause of the increasing incidences of floods. These problems are
continously because people continued to destroy the forest and cut the trees.

We suggest some precaution to solve this problem. Hope it can save our
environment for a better life. River Deepening Project, the forest preserve and
controlling human activity. Forests can act as sponges (sponge) by
absorbing rainwater and flows slowly to streams. It also acts as a filter to
determine the cleanliness and clarity of water. Forests can absorb rain water at a
rate of 20%. Then the rain water is released back into the atmosphere
by evaporation condensation. Only then is only possible reduction in rainfall.
 ACID RAIN

This is not picture on trees. But, you look at the trees there are no no leaf exists.
So, this play in deep meanings. Presence no leaf because of acid rain. There are many
reasons why we chooses this picture. We will talk it more details below.

Occurrence of acid rain can be caused by human activity or naturally occurred. We

expected, when deforestation happen it will together with open burning. So, this
phenomenon occurs when the burning of fossil fuels burned in large
numbers to release millions of tons of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides into the
air. These materials are then spread by wind and will combine with water droplets which
fell as rain water to form sulfuric acid and nitric acid. Rain will show high acidity when the
concentration of high acid. This type of active acid rain occurs when rain accompanied by
lightning. This are why acid rain easily happen in our place.

So, I suggest some ways to reduced this problems. First, we need to reduced the
numbers of trees to cut down. Next, strict the ruled and give awareness to the public. If
they failed to that, penalty wiil be given to them. This opportunity, we hope that we are
avoid from all the diseases that come from acid rain.
 GLOBAL WARMING

This picture is on global warming. Global warming is the process of

increasing the average temperature of the atmosphere, ocean, and land on Earth. We
believed that the condition in this picture is caused by activities carried out by people
like deforestation. All the trees had been cut off.

When you looked at the picture , there is polar bears on the small ice. Because
all the ice have been melted. This happens because when the sun light reached the
Earth's surface directly without the protection of the trees, the heat will be
trapped. This causes the temperature rise. All the ice will melt and cause sea levels to
increase.

Honestly, when we see this pictures we feel very sad to see the polar bear as
lonely and have no place to take shelter .To solve this problems we listed down some
precaution to present this problem. Among the precautions can be taken is reduced
deforestation and implement awareness campaigns on the issue of global warming is
to provide a real understanding of the world community.

Conclusion, all actions should be implemented by the world

community without delay time. We should not create excuses or reasons that
could delay the process of finding a solution to. We need to realize that the world
is not ours, but a heritage to be enjoyed by future generations.
 LANDSLIDES

Landslides are a major disaster of the world because it is widespread and have a big impact,
including Malaysia. Our justifications is effects of landslide disasters is harmful to humans and to other
living things. So, we had choose this picture because this disaster are also happen because of
deforestation.

As you all know, in this picture there are a lot of house. Humans had cut off all the trees to built
their house. People also had cut the trees to construction of houses and furniture and make paper. This
is contributing landslides to occur. We will tell you about our investigation. High water absorption after
the rain will cause the contents of water in the soil becomes more land will become loose .The land to
be weak and easily collapses, land movement occurs in areas that contain large quantities of water run
off reservoir or a lot landslides, especially on the slopes of the hill.So ,we believed and convience that
deforestation are factor dominant of landslides to occur.

To solve this problems we listed down some precaution to present this problem. Among the
precautions can be taken is control of housing construction and logging activities. Next, our trees can be
saved. The trees slow the flow of rain water and thus prevent flooding, soil erosion and landslides from
occurring during the rains. We feel so excited if all this precaution are implemented by the goverment.
 OPEN BURNING

Destruction of carbon sinks:

Carbon sinks are huge stores of carbon, e.g. Swamps and forests
Soil Erosion:
Deforestation makes soil prone to erosion by agents such as wind and water. The roots of trees hold the particles of
soil together thus, preventing the fertile top soil from being carried away. Soil erosion leads to loss of productivity of
the land due to loss of mineral nutrients and soil microorganisms
Destruction of animal habitats:
Apart from domesticated animals and marine and fresh water animals, all other animals need forests as their
habitats. These forests do not only provide a place for the animals to roam day but also provide their food and act as
a source of protection from predators through camouflage. Destruction of the animals habitats literally kills the
animals.
Medicinal Plants:
Some trees are used as herbs. Trees such as the Cinchona have been used as treatment against Malaria since time
immemorial. Destruction of these forests leads to destruction of medicinal plants that could be used as treatment for
various ailments.
Trees act as windbreakers:
Absence of these trees enables strong winds and or storms e.g. Hurricanes and Tornados. I write this in the wake of
a Tsunami at the Indonesian coast where about 150 people have just lost their lives. Hurricanes like Katrina are still
fresh in our memories. I cannot over emphasize this point.
Greenhouse effect and global warming:
Nature balances the flow of energy and nutrients. Forests plan a very vital role in these cycles e.g. the carbon cycle
where deforestation causes carbon dioxide to remain in the atmosphere. Accumulation of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere acts as a blanket that traps long wave radiation of heat and prevents it from escaping the surface of the
earth back into the atmosphere. This phenomenon is known as the greenhouse effect. The trapped radiation is
converted into heat. This heat causes global warming.
Destruction of forests also causes modification of climate of an area mostly leading to desertification and aridity.
What then should be recommended as solutions to these problems?
a) For every tree that is cut, three, not two should be planted in its case. We have reached such a critical point that to
prevent the desertification of the world that many more trees need to be planted.
b) Unless it is necessary, water catchments areas should strictly be left alone
c) Quick growing varieties of soft wood trees should be grown for commercial uses e.g. making of furniture, pencils
and paper.
d) We should carry out consistent mass education on a worldwide scale, on the importance of reforestation and the
dangers of deforestation
e) We need to enact and enforce strict laws against deforestation, worldwide.
f) It is high time that we reduced our dependence on charcoal as a source of fuel and make use of wind and solar
energy
 EROSION OF SOIL

When forest areas are cleared, it results in exposing the soil to the sun, making it
very dry and eventually, infertile, due to volatile nutrients such as nitrogen being lost. In
addition, when there is rainfall, it washes away the rest of the nutrients, which flow with
the rainwater into waterways. Because of this, merely replanting trees may not help in
solving the problems caused by deforestation, for by the time the trees mature, the soil
will be totally devoid of essential nutrients. Ultimately, cultivation in this land will also
become impossible, resulting in the land becoming useless. Large tracts of land will be
rendered permanently impoverished due to soil erosion.
