One lattice is represent two picks. To weave a fabric to above design we have to prepare at
least two Lattices such as this
6 5 4 3 2 1
1
2
Picks
3
4

Heald Frame Order which comes up is given below. We have to insert pins to the
lattice according to this order

When preparing a lattice we have to start from the front side (operators side ) of the
lattice.
1 3 5 6
2 3 4 6
2 4 5 6
1 3 4 5

Compare tappet shedding & dobby shedding

Tappet Dobby
Only Up to 10 Heald frames up to 32 Heald frames can be used
High Speed Less Speed
Low design Capability High design capability

The different between negative & positive shedding

Negative Positive
If the raising and lowering is done by two If both the raising and lowering is done by its
different mechanisms. self.

When crank wheel moves one circle is complete then one shedding, one picking
and one beat up is done.

Degree value of the following motions in shuttle looms.

1. Beat up at 0
2. Shed start to open at 275
3. Dwell period at 10 to 180
4. start picking & end picking at 85 to 110
5. Shed start to close at 182
6. heald frames come to level position at 270
