Terry Vandrovec grew up in Jamestown, N.D., – in the shadow of the world’s largest buffalo – and graduated from of Journalism and Mass
Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., in 2001. He’s been working in the sports department at a daily paper Communication and the Marian

SDSU Journalism Professor Matt Cecil will demonstrate how tomorrow’s sports reporters are continuing education fund with

Matthew Cecil is an associate professor in the SDSU Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, an
avid Jackrabbit sports fan, and an expert in new media technologies. A Brookings native, Cecil graduated from 1935 journalism graduate and
SDSU, earned a master’s degree in History from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Ph.D. in Mass onetime general manager of
Communication from the University of Iowa. Before returning home to join the SDSU faculty in 2005, Cecil SDNA. With cooperation from

Jason Hove has served as assistant athletic director for sports information at South Dakota State University since
2006, overseeing publicity for the Jackrabbits’ 21-sport varsity athletics program. He joined the athletics staff
as assistant sports information director in 1998 after beginning his professional career as a general assignment
reporter and page editor at the Mitchell Daily Republic. A 1996 graduate of SDSU’s journalism program, Hove
served as editor-in-chief of The Collegian during his senior year.
