SCHOOL NEWS
CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to the Pudijohartono family as they welcome their
bundle of joy. A baby boy.

RED RIBBON WEEK: Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated Monday, October 23rd through
Friday, October 27th. Student Council has lots of fun activities planned for this week.

JUNIOR HIGH HALLOWEEN DANCE: Mark your calendar.Saturday, October 28th, for our
Junior High Halloween Dance in the parish hall from 6:00-9:00 pm for grades 6th through
8th. We are in need of Halloween decorations that you can spare for the one night.
Remember to label each decoration you bring in with your family name. Decorations
can be dropped off in the 7th grade classroom. All decorations can be picked up on
Monday, October 30th.

HALLOWEEN MINI-CARNIVAL: Tuesday, October 31st we will celebrate Halloween with a


mini carnival from 1:00 2:30 pm. Students can come dressed in their costumes.
Important reminder: All costumes must be appropriate for school. No makeup or mask
can be worn at school. Students who do not wear costumes are allowed to wear jeans
and either a black or orange top. We also need every family to please bring in at least
one bag of candy (no gum). Parent volunteers are also needed to help make this
afternoon fun for all.

PUMPKIN CONTEST: We invite every family to enter our contest by decorating that
special pumpkin. Be as creative as you can be.make your pumpkin funny, scary, cute
or unique. Just remember NO CARVING of the pumpkin. You can bring them Tuesday,
October 31st. They will be displayed around the planters for all students to view. All
pumpkins must be taken home that same day after school.

GIFT CARDS: The holiday season is just around the corner! Dont forget a great way to
shop for the holidays is to purchase gift cards, and whats even better is to get your gift
cards from St. Columba School. What a fantastic way to help support our school. You

PICTURE MAKE-UP DAY: If your child missed picture day, make-up day is scheduled for
Monday, November 6th. Please remember students having their picture taken must be in
formal dress uniform including their cardigan/vest or sweater.

8TH GRADE FUNDRAISER: We invite all our families to join us Wednesday, October 25th, at
the Souplantation to help raise funds for the 8th grade class. Located at 7095
Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The flyer coming home today with your child must be presented
