That is why WizIQ offers a cloud-based Content Library. You can access your Content Library from inside the WizIQ Virtual
Classroom, sharing anything with your attendees using your library. You can even allow them to download the recordings
of your session, so your students can review the recordings at their leisure.
You are not limited to just what is already inside your Content Library. You can also upload files on the fly during a class,
and give students permission to upload as well. This Quick Guide explains both how to work with the Content Library, and
how to upload files directly in the classroom.

3. Recording
One of the WizIQ Virtual Classrooms most popular features is the ability to record classes. Class recordings capture
everything that happens in the main classroom, including:
Later, when someone plays your recording back, it plays like the real class without delay or disruption (depending on your
Internet connection).
As a teacher, only you can select to record your class session. However, your students can play any recordings you make,
and download them if you permit it. You might find the recordings useful for your own purposes as well.
Like the WizIQ Virtual Classroom, recordings are accessible from any web browser - since it plays in Flash, no other
plug-in is required.
This Quick Guide explains how to record your class and allow students to view or download the recording.

Watch the recording by launching the class and selecting View recording.
Download the recording by launching the class and clicking on the Download recording button.
If you did not grant permission for students to view the recording, you can select to share the recording link with
particular students who need to review or catch up. These students can then paste the link in any browser to view the
recording.
Note: For organizations, class recordings reside on their sub-domain, rather than on the main WizIQ site. Log on to your organizations
sub-domain and access the class page there to view or download your recordings.
Accessing your class recording opens the WizIQ Virtual Classroom, which immediately begins playing the recording. You
can control playback in the status bar in the bottom-right corner of the window, through the Playback Controller panel. In
this panel, the Current Index Entry Mark and the Playback slider show where you are in the recording. Refer Figure 3.4.
The Playback Controller panel also allows you to Pause the playback. Resume playing by clicking on the Play/Resume
button. To stop entirely, close the class by clicking on the X in the windows upper left corner.

Whether you want input on a particular class/course/teaching style/methodology, to assess students preparation levels
for upcoming exams, to create a quick quiz, or to conduct a marketing survey, the graphical representation of your results
makes them instantly useful.
Note: Polling is a premium account feature, the presenter can only see Poll results, and Polls cannot be used in individual Breakout
Rooms (though they can be used in the Main Room during a Breakout Session).

If you already know which files you want to play during class, why waste precious class time navigating your Content
Library? Instead, you can queue unlimited files in your class Playlist, and then clear it later with a single click.
To add a file in your Content Library to your Playlist, follow Steps 1 4 in the section Play files from the Content Library.
You can also add YouTube links to your Playlist by copying the YouTube link in the Video link text box, and then clicking

6. Screen Sharing
The WizIQ Virtual Classroom offers Screen Sharing capabilities, which allow you to show your online class whats
happening on your screen.
This Quick Guide explains how to share screens with your attendees.
Note: Screen Sharing is not available in Breakout Rooms. If youre running a Breakout Session, youll have to bring the desired
students out of their Breakout Rooms and in the Main room, and then share your screen there.
34
Its best to practice launching a Screen Sharing session before you plan to use one, or before you teach a class, where
one might be useful.
Note: Attendees dont have to install any additional add-ons to view your share.
Also, keep in mind that when you share, students can see all content on your desktop. Take a moment to ensure that you
display only what you want to display before beginning a screen sharing session for your desktop.
To share something on your screen during your live class, do the following:
1. On the WizIQ Virtual Classrooms main menu bar, click the Screen button.
35
2. The Screen Share Viewer dialog appears. Click on the Start Screen Share button to start sharing.
3. If you are sharing your screen for the first time, Java plug-in needs to be activated.

Once the writing control icon is displayed next to the attendees name, walk them through the process discussed in the
section Starting a Desktop Sharing session. Then when it is time to end their sharing session, explain the process in
the section Stopping your Desktop Sharing session.
When there is no more need for the attendee to share, return to the Attendee List, and click the writing control next
to their name to revoke the sharing permission. This is a good housekeeping step to prevent accidental or purposeful
mischief later.
Troubleshooting
If you refresh your session (or its refreshed for you) by closing the class or re-loading the page in your browser, screen
sharing closes automatically. Launch a fresh screen sharing session to return to what you were doing.

7. Whiteboard
The WizIQ Virtual Classrooms Whiteboard offers a flexible, feature-rich experience for visual teaching. In the WizIQ
Virtual Classroom, the Whiteboard consumes the largest portion of screen real estate. Using the Whiteboard, you can:
Project slides, play PowerPoint presentations, and share document files by uploading them from your Content
Library or your computer.
Play videos by selecting them from the Media Player, or pasting in their YouTube URL.
Write using specialized tools, ranging from multilingual text to math with formulas.
Draw with multiple tools, including the ability to create shapes for diagrams.
Assign writing control to your students, so they can demonstrate their understanding of the topic or visually form
their question.
Create a fresh Whiteboard for each concept using browser-like tabs without deleting previous material, as
though you are working with a virtual flip chart. No need to erase!
This Quick Guide explains how to use the WizIQ Virtual Classrooms Whiteboard to conduct an interactive class. It is
broken in two major sections:
The Whiteboard Menu Bar for adding media and other types of content.
Whiteboard tools for adding shapes and text to the Whiteboard.

Send a chat message to the teacher and all other attendees at the same time.
Send a chat message privately to the teacher.
In the Chat area on the lower right corner of the virtual classroom: By default, your conversations
appear in this area. There is no color distinction between private messages and public ones. When a private
message arrives, the receiver sees a notice on the top of the Chat Message box.
In the Pop-out message box in the centre of the whiteboard: To activate this view, click Pop-out in the
upper left corner of your Chat Message box. Private messages open in a new tab in the Pop-out message box,
and when a new message arrives, the related tab flashes.
In a tab on the bottom left corner of the WizIQ Virtual Classroom: When you minimize the Chat Message
box, it shrinks to a tab at the bottom of the classroom window. Whenever a new message arrives, the tab flashes.
Each Text Chat message includes a timestamp, which you can use to determine which messages are immediately
relevant. Each timestamp is specific to the senders time zone.
