The gridded data used in this section come from the North American Regional Climate
Change Assessment Program [NARCCAP] (Mearns et al., 2009). The data set WRFG in
spTest includes coordinates and a 24-year average of yearly average temperatures from
runs of the Weather Research and Forecasting - Grell conguration (WRFG) regional
climate model (RCM) using boundary conditions from the National Centers for
Environmental Prediction (NCEP).
The data set contains both latitude and longitude coordinates and map projection
coordinates that specify the regular grid for 14,606 grid boxes along with average
temperature at each grid box. Due to computational considerations, for our analysis we use
a 20x20 subset of the grid boxes over the central United States.

With this result for parameter a, we can consider that the data set is anisotropic (p-value
<0.001).
