Note to County Government:

Never a Lender Nor a Liar Be

A politician with his briefcase can steal more than a hundred men with guns.

According to an article in the Atlanta Business Chronicle the state is only

going to get $18 million in stimulus money for fiber optics instead of $1.8
billion. The areas that will receive the aid will be those in outlying rural
areas. Henry County lost the money.

Now BJ ObaMathis really needs the tax allocation districts in Henry

County!

Thank you for your support and participation

State of the County Address

Henry Herald on August 3rd

Streamlining government services, in light of ongoing economic pressures, will be a focus of the Henry County Board of Commissioners during
the coming year, according to Commission Chairman Elizabeth "B.J." Mathis. "We want to be as lean as possible," she said. "We feel like less
government is always better." [Take it for granted that nobody needs to be reminded of lies and damned lies. We all hear them every day
and know exactly what they are.]

"Last year, we cut our budget $3 million, and then, this year, we cut an additional $10 million out of that. I think we're doing a pretty good
job." [Shameless self promotion]

"I felt that it was important to provide this information to our citizens, because we are in tough, challenging economic times," she said. "I
wanted to make sure that we keep our citizens fully informed of some of the things that we're doing, to try to continue to provide quality
services, in light of the shortfall in revenue that we were expecting." [More shameless self promotion]

Mathis plans to focus the county government's collective energies, in the coming year, on economic development. She said she wants to
create a "friendly business environment," and to attract businesses to Henry. [Apparently this means handing out free money, ala ObaMathis
Stimulus Loans.]

Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels

Last month a deal was struck and the county commission voted 4 - 1, Johnny Basler in opposition, to loan $40-Million to
William Abbate's Atlanta Film Studios. The deal required Abbate to invest $15-Million in capital to reduce the risk and
liability to Henry taxpayers.

In the eleventh hour Abbate informed the BoC he could raise only $10-Million.

But wait, there is more. The pitchman is asking you how much you'd be willing to pay for the super-new-thingamabob.
Then you discover you're getting not one, not two, but three super-new-thingamabobs for only $19.95, plus a
mechanized back scratcher and a wearable blanket that also makes great fries.

If the BoC accepts the latest shell game, and they will by a probable vote of 4 - 2, the County can control outbound
traffic at Tara Field airport. And only spend another $500,000 in addition to the Federal Aviation Administration paying
95% of the cost for the runway extension. This plan also places Henry County into the movie business.

How are these two money-wasting ventures related? But wait, there is more.

Henry County will purchase from William Abbate approximately 94 acres or property that fronting the airport taxi-way. It
is a great investment for Henry County. We will all become wealthy and famous when a fuel depot is constructed on the
site. We will be masters of air travel by controlling property already inside the county. We will be the smartest deal-
makers because we do not need to buy Tara Field from Clayton County, just control the surrounding property.

The proposed deal to buy Abbate's property is based on a 2008 appraisal for the land. Inside sources say the county will
counter offer to purchase a prevailing market values. Who knows, maybe $10-Million on the table?
What about the movie studio? Wait, there is more.

Henry County will lease the needed portion of the property back to William Abbate.

Henry County will receive a letter of credit for $10-Million from Abbate's bank. Henry County will move forward with
issuance of up to $40-Million bonded debt. The County (Remember "The County" means us taxpayers) will also
guarantee the debt with 1-mil of property tax revenue.

Abbate will be given a stimulus package because his non-existent business could not exist without it. BJ Mathis will be
released from her personal debt to Abbate for campaign contributions he hustled for her. Exactly what benefits individual
commissioners will or will not enjoy remains a mystery..

Maybe they will be cast in starring roles in the upcoming theatrical event, The Perfect Crime. Acting in their official
capacity as governing authority no legal charges will stand in court. But they will have proven that smaller
government, honesty and transparency do not exist here.

Bickering over Obama Stash Money vs. SPLOST

RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE REIMBURSEMENT OF SPLOST III DOLLARS FROM ARRA DOLLARS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION PORTION OF
THE EAGLE'S LANDING PARKWAY ROAD PROJECT

$22,254,870 to reimburse SPLOST 3 for only construction costs at Eagles Landing Pkwy. $6-Million in row is not included
because ARRA will not reimburse that.

Holder asked to table resolution. Shovel-ready projects submitted from throughout the county. Board agreed ELP was
ready, but not the only project that would qualify. Roque Romero said 3 or 4 others were also ready. Board approved
ELP because ARRA would probably fund one larger project instead of 3 or 4 smaller ones.

Latonya Wiley clarified reimbursement money must be returned to SPLOST. The Resolution has recommendation for
placement of funds.

Holder said Resolution has not been read by all members. Reid and Warren discussed resolutions voted on previously.
Butch Sanders requested

Mathis said presentation by Mike Bush could confuse the issue. Out of respect for Holder, senior member of board, who
asked for detailed information and an offline meeting. She argued that SPLOST 2 funds were not equally distributed
among districts. Wants all funding divided equally. Board has worked well together by building consensus. This
Resolution could destroy that continuity and team building by asking a commissioner to vote before he has all
information. My responsibility to make sure this board works together in the future.

Basler said District 3, 4 and 5 are getting funds back they specifically allocated to ELP. Districts 1 and 2 did not
participate in this funding allocation.

Holder: ELP chosen over projects in Districts 1 and 2. $22-Million that could have been shared equally.

Basler reiterated ELP project chosen because of need. If he cannot get money back he cannot fund projects like Fairview
Road in District 5. He only wants funds back that were allocated from District 5.

Holder said those who participated in funding "sacrificed" those funds without knowing federal money would be available.

Mathis said more discussion is needed.

Bowman called on Roque Romero to confirm no other large project was shovel ready, including wetlands, water, and all
factors. Romero said only Keys Ferry @ Hwy 81 was ready. But changes were in play. Talk about Westmoreland giving
$20-Million for access road, under Holder's terms, District 4 is due $4-Million and "I want my money." Dist 4 paid
engineering costs for Dist 2 he will not get back.

Bowman said, "Nobody has been blindsided. Basler, Stamey and I have all said we want our money back."

Monroe Roark spoke in favor of reimbursing the districts that participated.

Holder spoke of previous SPLOST projects when District 1 had contributed From Bill Gardner Pkwy to Jonesboro Road but
never was reimbursed. He is only asking to hash this out in a meeting. He said, "Money from over bid or other cost
savings in SPLOST has evaporated. We did not lose it, but it went to other projects by resolutions. It went somewhere
and you cannot identify it. This board and previous boards have voted to move monies and I am asking for an accounting
of it."

BJ ObaMathis called the discussion "divisive" and tried to remove this item from the Agenda. She wanted a private
meeting out of public view. She was near weeping in voicing her "disappointment at how this meeting has went." How is
that for honest transparency?

In the end, Basler, Bowman, Roark and Stamey voted to return funds to original participants. Holder and Mathis (Mathis
rarely votes on anything) voted in opposition.

SPLOST Money Evaporates

No truer words every spoken. At the Tuesday, August 17th BoC meeting there was lively discussion about Obama Stash Money vs. SPLOST
funds.

Warren Holder said "Previous boards and this board has moved money by resolution from one [SPLOST] project
to another. Money has evaporated. We did not lose it, but you cannot identify it."

In his argument to share in reimbursements from ARRA funding , aka Obama Stash, for Eagles Landing Parkway, Holder enumerated
projects which District 1 funds were allocated, such as Jonesboro Road, for which his district was never reimbursed.

This is a classic case, to quote President George W. Bush's comments on Al Gore: "You cannot take the low road and then claim the high
horse."

SPLOST funding has always been a bucket o' money the BoC has been fast and loose in spending. State law indicates the funds be used only
for specifically listed projects named before the referendum so voters can know what they are approving. Our BoC has always divided the tax
revenues in ways that meet prevailing political winds. And money has always been allocated, re-allocated and moved around.

Finally a sitting commissioner has admitted the truth in public session - on video that can be seen at the county website.

Welcome Our Troops Home From Iraq

By TheDoctor

Thank you to all those brave troops who served us well in Iraq over these past several years. My
nephew will be able to stay in the States now that most of his training for the Iraqi soldiers is over. He's
been away quite a while and I am sure that he will be glad to see his wife and daughters.

War is the necessary evil that man carries on his back. From time to time he makes war inevitable due
to the circumstances that have brought him to the edge where man dare step and take the plunge into
the darkness of warfare.

Let's unite and say thank you to those troops returning home and help them through the trials that
many will have to over come. But let them know you care that is the main thing. Thank you and May
God Bless.

The above article is over at CNN iReports. I was asked to write a piece for them about our troops
coming home and what it means to me. I wanted to share this with those who cannot view it.

Ground Zero Mosque - British viewpoint

Pat Condell is a British stand-up comedian, but this video isn't comic, it's pure truth, and utterly brilliant.

GROUND ZERO MOSQUE: THE REAL ISSUE

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on DickMorris.com on August 18, 2010

The proposed mosque near to ground zero is not really a religious institution. It would be -- as many mosques
throughout the nation are -- a terrorist recruitment, indoctrination and training center. It is not the worship of Islam
that is the problem. It is the efforts to advance Sharia Law with its requirement of Jihad and violence that is the nub of
the issue.

There is a global effort to advance Sharia Law and make it the legal system of the world. Most major banks and
financial institutions offer Sharia Compliant Funds which have their investments vetted by the most fundamentalist and
reactionary of clerics to assure that they advance Sharia Law. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the founder of the proposed
Mosque, helps to prepare a Sharia Index which rates countries on their degree of compliance with Sharia Law. In the
United Kingdom, many courts have recognized Sharia as the governing law on matters between two Muslims.

Not only is Sharia Law a vicious anti-female code which orders death by stoning, promotes child marriage,
decriminalizes abuse of women, and gives wives no rights in divorce, but it also explicitly recognizes the duty of all
Muslims to wage Jihad against non-believers and promotes violence to achieve its goals. In this respect, violent Jihad is
as inherent in Sharia Law as revolution is in Communist doctrine.

But there are non-Sharia mosques where peaceful and spiritual Muslims worship God in their own way without
promoting violence. A soon-to-be published study funded by Frank Gaffney's Center for Security Policy, found that 20%
of the mosques in the United States have no taint of Sharia and simply promote peaceful worship. But 80% are filled
with violent literature, Sharia teachings, and promotion of Jihad and its inevitable concomitant -- terrorism.

Which brings us to the ground zero mosque. There can be no doubt that any mosque organized and run by Imam Feisal
Abdul Rauf will be based on Sharia Law and will serve as local branch office of the pan-Islamic terrorist offensive against
the west. That such a facility should be located right next to the place where Jihad achieved its most hideous triumph is
unspeakably inappropriate.

President Obama is confusing the issue when he describes it as one of religious freedom. There is broad latitude to
worship God as one chooses. But there is none to promote violence and terrorism. The record of involvement of Sharia
mosques with the 9-11 attackers and the Ft. Hood massacre shooter is so deep and extensive that it vividly underscores
the difference between a religious institution and an organization that promotes terrorism.

Politically, President Obama's defense of the mosque and his efforts to make it a First Amendment issue are incredibly
self-destructive. They raise questions about his political sanity. It is hard to believe how tone deaf he must have
become to take such a position. He has now embraced two positions that are anathema to two-thirds of all Americans --
the mosque and opposition to Arizona's immigration law. Neither was a controversy that sought him out. He waded into
each one voluntarily with flags flying. He had no role in the Arizona law but his lawsuit to invalidate it made it his fight.
He does not sit on the New York City Planning Commission, but his endorsement of the mosque puts him squarely in the
center of controversy. What is he using for brains these days?
