Evaluation system
Evaluation is permanent
One grade (0 to 4) considers:
- Quality in class performance
Reading
(both oral and written) beforehand is
- Timely completion of projects mandatory.
Teachers will
and tasks. assign pages to
- Achievement of module objectives read.

- Attendance and puctuality

Teachers award each student one of these
grades every five (or six) academic hours*:
4 Excellent
3 Very good
2 Good
1 In progress
0 Bad / Absent

* Academic hours of 50 pedagogic minutes.

On the eighth day of class* teachers award a
Mid Term grade

Day 1 Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 Day 8

3 2 3

To do this, grades (0-4) are added. A mid-term

grade is obtained according to a chart of
equivalences.
Example: 3+2+3=80
The same process is followed for the end-of-the-
term grade
Day 9 Day 10 Day 11 Day 12 Day 13 Day 14 Day 15 Day 16

3 2 3

3+3+3= 85
Finally, both grades are averaged

Important Information:
Evaluation System
All the areas in which students are assessed
follow a carefully planned schedule that is
available on Paideia and Guia del
Participante.
Some of these assessed activities cannot be
rescheduled (Observation Analysis and
Microteaching Sessions); therefore, we suggest
a close attention to the information regarding
all assessed activities that is detailed in your
Guia del participante.
Attendance and Punctuality when assigned a
class to observe is mandatory and it is a
requirement to undertake the Observation
Analysis Assessment.
Please, contact your venue coordinator if you
have any further questions.
The evaluation system is formative; that
means that follow-up, ongoing assessment
as well as timely feedback (on either
individual, pair or group work) are part of
the pedagogical service we provide.
Since English is considered the instructional
language in this Diploma, assessment will
consider the application of techniques,
strategies and methods as well as the
effective and functional command of the
language.
Difference in assessment weights
Your final average is calculated like
this:
MPAL Class Micro- Class Final written Final
participation teaching observation Exam Average
Student Session(s) analysis and
Case Study

xxxxxx 80 85 75 72 80

Promoted: 75 to 100
Failed: 74 or less
Important: Decimals are rounded down
Absences
The maximum number of absences is 8 hours. Be
careful not to be absent in Scheduled Event
Evaluations, since those activities are not re-
scheduled.
SS who have exceeded limit of absences are not
subject to a passing grade. they are free to move
forward, though.
Course can be taken again in the future if you wish to
do so.
Absences are not justified.
Note: Since you are a future teacher, remember that some of the
characteristics employers value the most are punctuality and regular
attendance.
Tardiness
Tardiness is considered up to 15 minutes
past the official class-start time
Tardiness of more than 15 minutes is
counted as one full hour of absence.
However, you are allowed to join the class
any time

Note: Be careful not to be late in Scheduled Event Evaluations since

some of them do not allow tardiness.
