Hotkeys are able to provide you, a professional trader, with the power of lightning fast execution,
putting you in the driving seat of all your trades.
Hotkey Function
Hotkey script.
To assign a keyboard shortcut to a predefined hot key, left click the hot key column and enter in
the desired shortcut.
Example:
We want our platform to have a keyboard function where; when we press Ctrl + B, we buy shares
at market price. (This hotkey will have the same function as clicking the BUY button in the
Level 2 window.)
One entered, insure to save your hot key by clicking; Save Keys on your platforms Hot Key
Configure window.
Once you have entered the keyboard shortcut into the Hot Key column, insure to check the
Enable Hot Key checkbox.
To delete a hot key, left click on the assigned hot key and press the delete button within the hot
key configure menu. Multiple keys can be deleted at once also using this method.
The hot buttons are found by extending the level 1 data section of the trading window, more
settings along with the hot buttons can be found here.
Hot buttons, alike hot keys can be programmed in order to perform a trading function once
triggered, although hot buttons are clicked as appose to being set as a keyboard toggle.
The platform provides five hotkey slots that can be used in conjunction with the default trade
buttons.
No function, Label.
Select Hotkey .
(Applies to both custom and
default hotkeys.)
Example:
We want to add a button that closes all market positions, a panic button.
To do this we;
Named the button PANIC.
Selected an appropriate background colour.
Then, selected the default hotkey; Close All Positions at Market to assign to the hot button.
Insure that hot buttons are ready to use by clicking the Enable Button toggle within the Hot
Buttons Configure window.
Add your preferred trading functions to your trading platform
Custom Hotkeys allow you to add the power of lightning fast execution to your specific trading
strategy and style.
The route dictates which Electronic Communications Network (ECN) your order is directed though.
The route is entered in the following format into the hotkey script:
Route=[Route Abbreviation][Order Type Abbreviation]
(e.g. NSDQL, meaning NASDAQ Long Position)
When trading stocks, there are two ECNs that the stock you are trading can be traded through;

Example:
You wanted to short AAPL at a $150 breakdown, and wanted to increase your chances of
entering the trade in your entry bracket.
You could use a hotkey with a trigger price of the current bid price, minus 0.01, to insure that you
get the best possible fill into your trade.
To add to this, you could also add a limit price to your hotkey to insure that you dont get a fill post
a gap down or fast breakdown.
E.g. LimitPrice=Bid-0.1 (This will provide you with a 9 cent short bracket for you trade).

This is an example of
how hot buttons can
be personalised
in order to input share
sizes that are commonly
used by you and your
strategies.
While testing hotkeys insure to test hotkey functions with small share sizes to minimise a potential
loss due initial input and execution mistakes (or possibly test hotkeys on a demo platform).
Hotkeys are saved in the hotkey.cfg file in your platform software folder this allows for
sharing/copying hotkeys, also to; store and interchange between multiple hotkey settings.
