5.2 Demonstrate an understanding of
the purpose of providing timely and
appropriate feedback to students
about their learning.
5.3 Demonstrate understanding of
assessment moderation and its
application to support consistent and
comparable judgements of student
learning.
My goals for this aspect:
- On practical placement,
observe how the mentor
teacher provides timely and
appropriate feedback
- Consider how to mark
students work to provide
timely and appropriate
feedback
- Develop a better
understanding of the
assessment moderation
process
- Throughout the four week
practicum, gather a variety of
assessment rubrics and
moderation tools from
mentor teacher and her
colleagues
Actions to develop my capability:
- Take notes on how the
mentor teacher provides
timely feedback and consult
with her what feedback is
appropriate
- Research a range of different
assessment items and consult
with mentor teacher for best
feedback practices
- Observe mentor teacher in
her moderation processes
and take notes
- Research different
assessment moderation
processes and techniques
Indicators of success:
- Putting into practice what was
observed from mentor
teacher and applying
feedback successfully
- Mentor teacher and
supervisor to observe how I
demonstrate appropriate and
timely feedback in the
classroom
- Application of an effective
moderation technique
- Implement and explore these
different rubrics and have
mentor teacher and
supervisor positively
