Diagnosis
In 2004, my whole life turned
upside down, my little brother was
diagnosed with a behavioral
disability that my family knew
nothing about. W had him checked
out because he had gone so long
without speaking or saying his first
word. The doctor delivered the
news like she had done a hundred
times before, as Autism affected
1in 68 children in the US, and 1 in
42 boys. As a family, we had a lot
of learning to do, and it stared the
moment we walked out of the
office that day.
