One dead after early morning shooting in Frogtown

Saint Paul police are investigating after a man was apparently shot at the intersection of Lafond
Avenue and Dale Street North Saturday, Oct. 21. He later died at Regions Hospital.

Ofcers responded to the area at 5 a.m. on a report of a ght. When ofcers arrived at the scene, they
found an adult male lying in the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Saint Paul Fire
medics transported the victim to Regions Hospital, where he later died.

Investigators from the departments Homicide Unit brought several possible witnesses to police
headquarters for interviewing. The Forensics Services Unit is processing the scene, and the Ramsey
County Medical Examiners Ofce is working to positively identify the victim and determine his exact
cause of death.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 651-266-
5650.

This is an active investigation, and no further information is currently available. Once the Ramsey
County medical examiner has positively identied the victim and family notications have been made,

This is the 18th homicide in the city this year.
