NOTICE FOR DEFAMATION

LEGAL NOTICE

Sir,
For and on behalf of my clients Shri Babloo Prasad, s s/o Chulbul Prasad, r/o 66/C,
Rohini, Delhi and his daughter Smt. Kamla Devi, I serve you with the following notice.
1. My said clients have handed over to me the copy of the newspaper The Hindu
dated 24/04/2017 with reference to the matrimonial column thereof.
2. That an advertisement is published at page number 3 in the all India issue of the
newspaper read as follows:
High status, Brahmin, very fair, handsome boy, 26, tall, post graduate, income
running in six figures, recently divorced on mutual terms with a schizophrenic girl, no
issue, owns posh house, 4 cars, only son seeks extremely beautiful unmarried
extrovert girl preferably 23-25 years old from a high-status family.

3. That not only each word of the advertisement offensive, false frivolous. It is stated
that you, Addressee 1 and 2 published the above advertisement to frame an
innocent girl.
4. That addressee 1 and 2 have been successful in the misdemeanor and the relatives
of my clients have been inquiring about her mental health, thereby bringing down
her reputation.
5. That my clients are also apprehending more aggressive and hurtful attacks on their
reputation and goodwill. The magnitude of the harm is unimaginable and cannot be
gauged.
6. That so far as editor and publisher are concerned make it manifest that you are
liable for this misadventure, by publishing this advertisement which is defamatory in
nature. You have not inquired into the correctness of aspersions acted against my
clients. You have gone to the extent of calling her schizophrenic. This amounts to
defamation, both civil and criminal in nature and inter alia this may give rise to a
claim of deficiency in service and unfair trade practices and any other statute as
applicable.
7. I hereby give you notice to pay a sum of Rs. One million to the said Shri Babloo
Prasad as damages and publish an unqualified apology prominently in your
newspaper within 15 days from the receipt of this notice.
I hereby give you notice that if you fail to comply with this notice, I will initiate legal
proceedings either to prosecute you in a criminal court for defamation or to sue you
for damages.
