B- Professional Information
Aims:
Organizational behavior (OB) focuses on the complexity of human behavior at the workplace. The course
presents basic ideas and theories from the behavioral sciences as they apply to human behavior in
organizations. Topics covered in the course focus on exploring the complexity of human behavior at the
workplace and reviewing the applicability of western OB theories to the Egyptian/Arab workplace. In
addition to that, the course helps students to read and write in the area of OB and develop their
interpersonal skills as potential future managers.
b.1 Interpret the type of personality using the Myers-Briggs personality test.
b.2 Show the impact of different types of personalities on group performance and decision-
making.
b.3 Apply attribution theory to understand differences in perceptions of the same situation
am ong different individuals.
b.4Apply theories and concepts of perceptions to understand individuals behavior and b.5
Show decision-making process.
b.6 Practice group-decision making techniques.
b.7 Examine the strengths and weaknesses of own groups performance.
b.8 Illustrate all the three levels of analysis in OB to each other.
c-Intellectual skills
c.1 Analyze what is Organizational Behavior and its major challenges and opportunities.
c.2 Distinguish between the three levels of analysis of OB (i.e. individual, group and
organizational.
c.3 Distinguish between the different management activities in real-life case studies.
c.4 Summarize and contrast the relationship between attitudes and behavior.
c.5 Apply concepts about emotions and moods to specific OB issues.
c.6 Contrast the strength and weakness of group decision making.
c.7 Identify common barriers to effective communication.
c.8 Point out key managerial skills required for the successful management of OB.
c.9 Distinguish between the different management activities in real-life case studies.
c.10 Analyze different OB scenarios in several organizations.
