Nikolaos (Nikos) Skalkotas (born March 21 1904, Chalkis, Greece - died Sept. 20
1949, Athens, Greece) was one of the leading Greek composers of the 20th century. A
member of the Second Viennese School, he drew his influences from both the
classical repertoire and the Greek Tradition.
