Meeting Minutes

September 25, 2017: 6:00 pm 7:00pm


Common House: 2558 NE Daggett Lane

Board members present: Monica, Carolyn, Beth, Carol, Patrick, David, guests Jillian, Timothy,
Sarah.

1. Approval of minutes from last meeting

2. General Business

a. Traffic updates (Beth)eventually will have lane closures on Purcell. Nothing new

i. General updatestraffic safety issues, neighborhood streets used as shortcuts;


livability issues

ii. Traffic Advisory Committee open position (applications due Oct 6th)Beth
submitted her application today. Hoping Safe Passages group people will apply.
Patrick also interested.

b. Land use updates (Carol)no new announcements since last meeting. Carol attended the
hearing about food court but a decision has not been made. Online plan numbers help in
finding information.

c. Civic Equity Project updates (Carol)Conference call Thursday; organizational


development plan, monthly Opportunity Knocks meetings, increase on board with Patrick
becoming a member. Orientation held on ??, where Move Bend was really pushed to the
group.

d. BPRD updates (David/Monica)Mirror Pond dredging by signing a MOU with Mirror


Pond Solutions. MPS will dredge, BMPRD will improve the shores. MPS has applied to
state for funding. Deschutes Watershed Council wants to rehabilitate the shores along the
Deschutes River. Patrick said he saw the new park off of Eagle Road. Smell at Pine
Nursery Park is really bad.

e. NART September meeting summary (Carolyn/Carol/Beth)Livability in Bend and the


Move Bend group, transportation was a common issue

3. NART September meeting Report Out/Summary (Carolyn/Carol)Sept 27 doodle poll due.

4. NART Priorities Survey (due Oct 6)Oct 2, 6 PM.


5. Voting for the proposed committee structure or the representatives who will present to
City Council on Oct. 18 and next NART Meeting Doodle Poll (due Sept 27)

6. MVNA postcard idea for new residents from Becca: The group is DBM and our contact there is
Jake Pakula, jpakula@dbmgroup.com (Monica)Becca from Whole Foods is willing to
connect MVNA through their postcards.

7. Ann Kasch Energy Challenge, Environmental Center would like to come to next board meeting
to share Free LED program.

8. FacebookTimothy Kinney is willing to work on it. Carolyn will share information.


9. Charter committeewhere are they are with decisions and work on ward system? Potentially
on the May 2018 ballot. David will report back because he is very interested in this issue.

a. Sept 27th: Move Bend Launch Party @ 10 Barrel 5-7 pmmaybe Sarah, Beth, Carolyn
can attend
