Hi Panji,

How is your holiday? I hope you have a great one. You know, I learnt how to
make an e-mail whenI attended student exchange programme in Jakarta, so i sent this
e-mail.
I spent my holidayby joining a tudent exchangeprogramme in Jakarta. The
programme was held for national level so students from many regions in Indonesia had
gathered for three weeks. During the programme, I stayed with a kind and friendly
family in Jakarta.
Let me tell you about my activities during the programme. I visited many
interesting places, such as TMII, National Museum, Bung Karno Stadium, the
amusement park, University of Indonesia and worship places. I met veterans, people
from various professions and disabled children. I also learnt how to operate a
computer.

Javan hawk eagle b a medrrr.sized eagle that is endemic to Java lslard in Indonesfta. lt lives in
primary forests, secondary forests, tree plantations and semi-deciduous forest.
It has a dark brown back and chestnut along the sides of its head and nape. The
throat is cream-coloured witrr a dark stripe. The crest is held almost vertically with Hack tippeO wilh white.
The wings are dark brown and tfie long tail is grey-brown with four black bands. The under part dtthe
wings and tail are white with rufous baning. The eyes and feet are yellow and the cere is grey. lts call is
a high-pitched whistle. Lt often soars above treetops when the weather is clear. lt flies about 50O-1,000 metres
above sea level.
 It eats small mammals, birds, snakes and lizards. Mammals are their preferred prey, which
include tree shrews, squirrels, bats, rats and other rodents. It usually hunts from a perch, then swoops
down to catch prey on a tree or on the ground. The nest is made out of sticks and lined with green
leaves. lt is placed in a large tree. Pairs breed every two years. One egg is laid and incubated for 47-
48 days. Fledging takes 68-72 days, with both parents feeding the young.
It is currently endangered due to habitat
destruction, illegal poaching and capture for the pet
trade. lndonesian government has authorized law for
banning poaching and capture to protect these eagles.
