Job Title: Purpose of the position:

Assistant Foreman Responsible for assisting the Major Maintenance Works

Major Maintenance Works Foremen, in the organising, controlling and coordination
of major maintenance works in the PAL, Utilities and
Refinery areas.

Reporting relationship:

Reporting to - Major Maintenance - Location : Toamasina

Works Foreman.
Direct reports - Major Maintenance
Works Insulation personnel.
Dotted line reports, Project Team
based - Ambatovy and contractors
employees and supervisors..

Major Maintenance Works The PAL plant area is the design constraint of the operation and major
maintenance works have a significant effect on nickel and cobalt production. In addition, PAL major
maintenance is one of the largest cost centres in the operation. Accordingly, the planning and execution of
these works is critical to the profitability of Ambatovy. These works are often complex and involve the
coordination of many activities such as SCM, permitting and isolations, confined space entries, vessel
cleaning, specialist consultants, maintenance contractors, Ambatovy maintenance, mobile equipment
management, and operational interfaces.

Main Accountabilities
Responsibilities
1. Provide field leadership to the department in
achieving all health, safety and
environmental objectives.
2. Assist in the Major Maintenance Works
Foremen in the smooth and efficient control
of PAL, Utilities and Refinery shutdowns.

The Major Maintenance Assistant Foremans role is to assist the Major Maintenance Works Foremen
achieve safe, efficient and timely execution of PAL, Utilities and Refinery major maintenance works.

Requirements (Skills, Experience and Qualifications)

Skills: technical, management, organisation

Strong experience within an industrial operation and maintenance environment.
Exposure to supervisory positions.
Ability to lead meetings and communicate objectives.
Ability to coordinate multiple work teams in a complex and intense work environment.
Knowledge of all safety aspects of mechanical and electrical facilities within an industrial setting.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Good English, French and Malagasy oral and written communication skills.

Experience: level, field, duration

Minimum 5 years experience in a maintenance environment, with exposure to autoclave operations
and maintenance essential.
Exposure to supervisory or leadership roles, with demonstrated ability in team leading.

Qualifications: education, complementary training

Diploma/Trade qualification in appropriate engineering discipline essential.
