JOB DESCRIPTION
Job context
Reporting to the Chemist, the Sample Preparer executes laboratory works from solid, slurry and liquid
sampling, in order to obtain operational data, following established procedures such as screening, solid
specific density measuring, moisture measuring, sedimentation test and viscosity measuring. The
incumbent works closely with the Ore Processing Engineer to control OPP feeds and to improve OPP
performance. He/she ensures OPP sampling quality control, works effectively and safely. He/she takes an
active part to achieve or exceed OPP operational objectives to produce high quality slurry at minimal cost.
Main Accountabilities

1. Collect operational data 1.1. Follow all instructions from the Chemist or from Supervisors,
1.2. Prepare samples for chemical analysis or other works at the
laboratory,
1.3. Execute laboratory works with samples in compliance with
enforced procedures and supervisors instructions, such as
screening, solid specific density measuring, moisture
measuring, sedimentation test and viscosity measuring,
1.4. Work in an autonomous, effective and safe way,
1.5. Collaborate with the ore processing Engineer, to accomplish
works and sample collections,
1.6. Accomplish associated calculations and present results within
concise reports.
2. Control sampling quality 2.1. Execute quality control program with OPP sampling,
2.2. Ensure that tasks assigned are achieved in strict
implementation of safety measures designed to protect
employees, equipment and environment,
2.3. Maintain work place in order, clean and safe,
2.4. Actively participate in work and safety meetings as well as in
