Everything you need to know about breast cancer

Breast cancer is a kind of illness that occurs when cells in breasts start to grow out of
control. You can commonly feel the tumor in the form of a lump on your breast, but not
always. Lumps are usually painless and often not thought to be much as not a lot of
people know about the symptoms. Early symtoms of breast cancer include breast pain
that doesnt go away after your period, a lump that doesnt go away after your period,
nipple discharge that is typically red, brown or yellow in colour and irritation around the
breast. Some later signs of breast cancer include growth of one breast, existing lump
getting bigger, vaginal pain, and visible veins on breast. There are many different kinds
of tumors such as DCIS, IDC, inflammatory breast cancer, LCIS, recurrent and metastatic
breast cancer. DCIS, short for ductal carcinoma is the main non-invasive type of breast
cancer, IDC, short for Invasive ductal carcinoma is a type of cancer that is the typical
kind of cancer. IDC is such a common kind of breast cancer that almost 80% of women
suffering from breast cancer suffer from IDC. In IDC the cancer starts in the milk ducts
but then spreads to the breast tissue around the milk ducts. One of the most
uncommon and threatening kinds of breast cancer is inflammatory breast cancer.
Inflammatory breast cancer starts with the breast swelling and reddening and generally
instantaneously symptoms deteriorating within days or even hours. LCIS, short for
lobular carcinoma is where irregular cell growth takes place and expands the odds of
developing invasive breast cancer. Another type of breast cancer is recurrent and
metastatic breast cancer is the kind of cancer that comes back after you have had it
once. Although it is not mandatory to get breast cancer the second time, numerous
people do in the other breast and the treatment is usually different from wat they had
received the first time.
Despite the fact we are still uncertain about the causes of breast cancer, we fathom a
few of the main causes such as family history, advancing age, BRCA gene mutations, and
hormone replacement therapy. Having a family history of breast cancer plays a
significant role in someone developing breast cancer. If you have a first degree family
member that suffered from breast cancer the possibility of you developing breast
cancer is increased greatly. Advancing age is a crucial cause of developing breast cancer.
Chances of developing breast cancer generally begin to rise when youre over the age of
40, the highest rate of breast cancer in women is for women over the age of 70. BRCA
gene mutations are genes that produce tumor suppressor proteins. Tumor suppressor
proteins help reconstruct impaired DNA. If a woman obtains a detrimental mutation
from the BRCA gene her chances of getting breast cancer are extremely heightened.
Hormone replacement therapy is prescription medicine consisting of female hormones
to reinstate the ones you stop making after menopause. Hormone therapy increases the
chances of breast cancer because when it is combined with estrogen it makes breasts
denser which them makes it more difficult to identify cancer in mammograms.
Breast cancer prevention is an act to decrease the likelihood of getting cancer by
doing things that help you avoid developing cancer. Things that escalate the chances of
you developing cancer are labeled cancer risk factors and things that reduce the chances
of developing breast cancer are labeled cancer protective factor. Despite the fact no
one understand what really causes breast cancer there are a few things that scientists
believe help in trying to prevent cancer such as not smoking, eating healthier, and
limiting alcohol. Eating healthier lowers your chances of breast cancer because when
you eat healthier your body often times maintains a healthy weight and studies show
that overweight women have a higher chance of getting breast cancer after menopause
in comparison to women of healthy weight. According to research drinking alcohol
steadily increases a womens chance of breast cancer because it destroys DNA in cells.
