Simon Fraser University

2. What is unique about this campus?


Simon Fraser University is unique because
the Surrey Campus is located in Central City Shopping Centre.

3. What kind of programs are offered?


At the surrey campus the faculties that they
offer are the faculties of Applied Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences, Education,
Environment, Health Sciences, Science, Communication, Art and Technology,
and lastly the Beedie School of Business. The programs inside these faculties
include anthropology, criminology, economics, general studies, business,
environmental science, geography, sociology, psychology, kinesiology, physics,
and many more programs are offered.

4. What is the application deadline?


The application deadline for Simon Fraser
University is February 28th2018 and it opened on October 1st
2017.

5. How do I know what classes to register for?


After logging into your account on
the SFU website they will guide you to a different page. This page will allow you
to see a list of courses that show you the courses you are required to take based
on your faculty.

6. What is the average class size?


At the Surrey Campus classes for first year
students should not regularly exceed 100 students (lectures). Tutorials will be

smaller and could have 30 or less students in the average class

7. How do you provide academic advice to students?


Simon Fraser provides academic counselors and administrative personnel.

8. Where are the best places to study on campus?


One of the best places to study
on campus is the library. The library offered spacious desks with dividers in
between them so students can have their own work space. The desks also
provided outlets so students could charge their laptops and phones. More places
to study are all around the campus. As you walk around SFU there is work space
with desks and chairs all around the campus in the hallways.

9. Does the campus offer residence?


No, the Surrey Campus does not offer
residence on campus.

10. How can I get involved with athletics or clubs and societies?
SFU has a website
called Student Society and it has a list of all the clubs and information about
them. You could also talk to someone who is in charge of athletics and all the
clubs to get information on how to join them.

11. What surprised you about campus?


due to a new design the campus is actually connected to a shopping center.

12. What did you like about the campus?


There were plenty of study areas and ways to get involved with the school
through clubs ect.

13. What did you not like about the campus?


There were very loud sections throughout the school that would be hard to study
in; as well as the lack of anything interesting to look at other than the classrooms.

14. How long was the tour?


45 minutes
15. Would you apply to this Campus?
Yes, however Id much rather apply to UBC due to the collection of the
community feel, beauty of the campus and housing that they offer. Although SFU
still provides all the aspects that a good school offers.
