NEGOTIATION PROCESS INTERVIEW 4

NEGOTIATION PROCESS INTERVIEW

Dear learner read the following questions, then, give an answer to each one according
to the audio incorporated in the material. After that, send the audio simulating the
interview to your instructor.

Questionnaire responses:

1. Tell me about yourself.

I have more than eight years of experience as a Police teacher. Most recently, I led the
development of new training programs for the Colombian national police. I am a person
who develops in a fast-paced environment, so right now I am looking for an opportunity
to apply my technical expertise and my creative problem solving skills to an innovative
company like this.

2. Why should we hire you or buy your product?

I think that my experience in the company and my ability to work autonomously make
me a good match for this position.

3. What is your greatest strength?

I have an extremely strong work ethic. When I'm working on a project, I don't want just to
meet deadlines. Rather, I prefer to complete the project well ahead of schedule.

4. What is your greatest weakness?

I've learned to make my perfectionism work to my advantage. I have become proficient
at meeting deadlines, and with my attention to detail and I know my work is accurate.

5. Why do you want to work here?

This job is a good fit for what I've been doing and enjoying throughout my career. It
offers a mix of short-term projects and long-term goals. My organizational skills allow me
to successfully multitask and complete both kinds of projects.

6. Why did you leave your last job?

I am interested in a new challenge and an opportunity to use my technical skills and
experience in a different capacity than I have in the past.
7. What is your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest achievement has been to be a jungle command instructor. And during the
last years I had the opportunity to travel to several Latin American countries to train the
police of those countries.
8. Describe a difficult work situation and what you did to overcome it.
As an instructor, the hardest decisions I make involve getting students out of the
courses. Before making those difficult decisions, I always think carefully about what is
best for the institution and the other students. Although I do not like to make those kinds
of choices, I do not object to this part of my work. Last year, I had to take out some
students because of the breach of security measures with weapons. This was a difficult
decision that was ultimately necessary for the good of the Institution and the other
students.

9. Where do you see yourself in five years?

My goal right now is to find a position at a company where I can grow and take on new
challenges over time. Ultimately, Id like to assume more management responsibilities
and get involved in product strategy. But most importantly, I want to work for an
organization where I can build a career.

10. Do you have any questions for me?

I see myself as a top-performing employee in a well-established organization, like this
one. I plan on enhancing my skills and continuing my involvement in related professional
associations.
