Following successful passenger testing of four pre-series vehicles of a new tram type for
the German capital, the Berlin Transport Authority (BVG) ordered 99 FLEXITY Berlin rams
in September 2009. Serial vehicles were modified to reflect passenger recommendations.

‘The City of Blackpoo! is the launch customer of the BOMBARDIER FLEXITY 2 tram. In
delivering these 16 trams, Bombardier Transportation is contributing to the revitalization of
Britain's most traditional tam system, enhancing the city’s atractiveness while reducing
energy consumption.

Blackpool's FLEXITY 2 trams are 322 mong and 2.65 m wide, with five sections and
three bogies. The vehicle is capable of carrying about 74 seated passengers, with
additional wheelchair and pushchair space plus standing room.
Their technical advantages include an improved carbody concept, with better corrosion
protection and an enhanced bogie design, the FLEXX Urban 3000. The overall vehicle

energy consumption

‘The Leipzig transport authority (LVB) commissioned Bombardier Transportation in
November 2003 with the delivery of 12 low-floor trams of the FLEXITY Classic series. In
addition, 12 identically designed vehicles were ordered in September 2005 and an order
for 9 trams was placed in January 2010.
Designed in the colours of the municipality, the vehicles are especially tailored to suitthe
requirements of the city of Leipzig. The vehicles offer comfortable entrance areas and a
transparent interior with flat screens for travel information. In addition, the air-conditioned
cars feature video cameras for improved safety. With a length of 45 metres the trams are
Ideally designed to accommodate a high passenger volume. Each of the new vehicles
replaced three of the Tatra-trams which have been in operation in the city. The
new FLEXITY Classic vehicles made a vital contribution to mobility atthe 2006 Soccer
World Cup in Leipzig.

‘Bombardier’s FLEXITY Outlook tram for Milan was designed for safe and economic public
transport in Europe's fashion capital as well as to further improve the daily traffic low.
Additionally, this unidirectional vehicle reduces energy consumption due to a significant
weight reduction and the use of regenerative brakes. A curve radius of 18 metres eases
‘manoeuvring through the streets of Milan. With 360 mm entrance height smooth
passenger transfer is guaranteed even for people with prams or heavy luggage. The
extraordinary design as well as the travelling comfort make the FLEXITY Outlook trams an
attractive means of transport. A total of 26 street-rams were already delivered and have
been in service since 2000.
