What prompted you to take IBPS-PO exam in 2015? Was it your rst attempt?
My father advised me to prepare for bank exams as he is working in Reserve Bank so he knew that a Governm
offers job security, decent salary and a good perception in the society. He motivated me to prepare for Bank E
completing my Engineering.

IBPS-PO 2015 was my second attempt because I was unable to qualify the cut-off in 2014.

Most candidates are intimidated by the excessive competition. What is your advice for them?

My strategy was not very different, but I'm sure that I was more focused than most of the people applying for

I. Proper Research
The rst thing I did prior to commencing my preparation was research. I analyzed the previous year papers of
tracked all the Important Topics from the exam perspective. I prepared a list of all the Topics with their Weigh
Perspective from IBPS PO. Analyzing the previous year papers also acquainted me with the difculty level of t
and the type of questions expected in the exam.

II. Gathering the Study Resources


Next, I searched the internet for guring out the best study material. I purchased some high-level MCQs book
listed Effective Shortcuts and Tricks. I also referred to Online Sources for shortcuts.

III. Preparing Study Schedule & Strictly Adhering to it


I relied on preparing Monthly study schedules for IBPS-PO in order to complete the syllabus well in time. Next
the syllabus amongst the different weeks. Also, I strictly adhered to the schedule throughout my preparation s
point of preparing a schedule if you cannot follow it.

IV. Solved Previous Year Papers


I thoroughly solved 3 previous year papers of IBPS PO and SBI-PO to gauge my level of preparation. From this
Weightage topics in my practice books. This exercise exposed me to what is actually expected in the exam. I
practicing similar questions.

V. Commencing Preparation with High Weight Age Topics


I commenced my preparation with the High-Yielding topics at the beginning. My strategy was to dedicate eno

High-Yielding Topics and prepare them thoroughly and to move on to the lower yielding ones at a later stage.

VI. Consistent Practice


While preparing a topic, I simultaneously solved a large number of MCQs on each topic. This helped me to att
understanding of each topic and aided me in learning the application of concepts. This exercise of consisten
MCQs immensely helped in guring out my weak areas and reduced exam pressure.

VII. Attempting Online Tests


I also attempted online tests throughout my preparation. With every test I tried to improve my score. As I said
competition was not with 20 lakh people but myself. I attempted Sectional Tests after completing the syllabu
section. After completing the entire syllabus of IBPS PO, I attempted Full-length tests. In the last 1 month, I at
length test each day. I took online tests that were conducted at All India Level to know my Rank. This is a goo

Well, my aim was crystal clear in my mind from the beginning. I commenced my IBPS PO Prelims preparation
to the exam.

Further, I initially dedicated 6-7 hours each day to study which gradually increased to 10-12 hours as the exam
near.

Did you go to the examination hall with a target score?


Yes, I did have a target score in my mind because one need to score at least 15-20 more marks than the
the exam in order to get nal allotment to the bank. So merely passing the cutoff never assures you the nal s

denitely needs to score high in the exams and that can be achieved by having good accuracy in the exams.

Well even after having good command over the subjects in 2014, I was not able to get through the bank exam
