Step 0 Arrival and Set up (6:00pm-6:30pm arrival)

Step 1 Opening- getting to know each other by having the students pick a gummy
bear. When all the students have picked their gummy bears, they will be
placed in a group based on what color they picked. They will share their name,
favorite color, food, game and movie. They will stay in these groups for the
rest of the night. (15 min)

Step 2 Sorting and Ordering: Have students order their artifacts, which will help them have a
smooth experience when recording.
Also have them download the app/tool if needed (15 min)

Step 3 Pre-scripting: (15 min)


-Have students fill out template about their artifacts. This will help them with
knowing what to say when recording.
Step 4 Digital Storytelling procedures
Give students tutorial of the apps.
Once the students have practiced with the app have them start recording

Step 5 Edit the video. (30 minutes)

Step 6 Share digital stories with everyone.


It will be shown on a big screen.
Peers and adults will be reminded to be respectful and to applaud after the
person has finished presenting (30 min)

Step 7 Group reflection.


We will divide up into our original groups.
Pizza will be handed out to the students and we will have an open discussion
about :
What they liked
What they found interesting
Did anyone share the same thing
And what was something new that they learned about their peers
(15 min)

Step 8 Extension. Getting feedback/resources/ideas from teachers and parents


I would use google forms to get the parents to take a survey before they leave
on the ipads/other devices. (5 min)

Writing Template for Artifacts: each student can take up to 5 writing templates
This template will help the students organize their artifacts. It will also help when recording.
They will already know what to say since they will be reading from this template. Using this
template will make recording a smoother experience.
