Prompt: How did the British view the American position on Oregon?
According to the political cartoon, Britain is the strong mature father to the tiny weak child-like
America (Document 1).The British view the American position on Oregon as waste of time and
foolish low expectations. The idea is well detailed by drawing Britain as a watchful guard to the
preparing and excited America, this directly issues that the British feel more mature than
Americans who get excited to fight. The British at this time saw Americans as if they had a very
poor opportunity to win Oregon because the British had reigned over America for a very long
time so they always felt superior to them.
